No, but in reference to the Dark Tower books, its close to one of the character Eddie Dean. But we actually fist considered the name after watching a Supernatural episode... Dean Winchester

There's a great local pizza place named Poppa Rollo's here; the owner's name is Roland. Additionally, I remember playing a goofy piece of band music with the name Rollo in the title. So I think Rollo is short for Roland. One letter shorter, woo-hoo!

So my wife won't let me name our son Roland (due in three months) because our friends have a cat named Roland (named after everyone's favorite gunslinger).

Has anybody else named their child/pet/anything else Roland?

My father's name really was Roland - everyone just called him Rolly.
(He had a brother named Romeo too - must have been one of those French quirks.) French Canadian grandma.
