Hey all. I'm trying to locate the title of a short story. It was in one of the collections, but I just can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

The premise is this:

Two teenagers... One from the late 1800's New England and the other from the late 1900's (basically 100 years apart)... develop some sort of connection where they can visualize each other's environments. They build a relationship in the time that they have together during their connection. There is a river they would both frequent with a rock shaped like a bear (?) that the girl eventually carves their initials into.

If anyone can help me solve this, it would really make my day.

Thanks!

Bill

So my wife, with her amazing Google skills, located the story. Much to my chagrin, it is NOT a Stephen King story. However, if you do happen to read it, you'd understand why I would recollect it as being one. It really is a good story.

The story is "A Message from Charity" written by William M. Lee and was part of a Twilight Zone collection. (Not that Stephen King ever did ANY Twilight Zone stuff... ;-))

Anyway, I greatly appreciate the assistance and please excuse my wild goose chase.
