Roland deserved some kind of consolidation for everything he went through, not to just go through it all over again.
But each time Roland makes his journey he does get consolidation. On his next journey he will have the Horn Of Eld with him and that will make his journey better/easier. Maybe with the Horn with him this time it will be his last. It's up to you to decide if/when Roland finally is at peace with himself and his journey. That is what makes the ending so wonderful- you, not King, are the author of Roland's journey.

What about this: why don't we use Romeo and Juliet as an example. What if Romeo and Juliet ended just as Juliet is in decision about to whether to take the poison, we are left with what might be her decision, that is all, we never find out what happened. Would that be a good ending, because we would be able to make up our mind over what happened. If that was the case then we would not have got that powerful ending, don't you agree?

Life does not always give you all the answers, neither do some books. Some authors need "endings" to complete their story/ some do not. In my opinion, Sk followed his muse.

I expected more to be critical of the ending, I thought it was an ending that would be polarising. It seems not. This is the final time I'll explain my reasoning for disliking it.
I did not invest so much in such an amazing series to have a half baked ending, and regardless of weather you like it or not, I don't think anyone could argue against that. My original argument stands, why does Steve, in the coda, say ''I wasn't crazy about it either.'' Plus, Steve has always had a problem with endings, that is a fact. But I think TDT is still amazing though.

I don't get the channel it's going to be on, so I won't be watching it until it is available on dvd/bluray.
Amazon is pretty reasonable. Not like other streaming services, ahem, Disney plus, but I'm not even sure if it is going ahead, they have done a pilot, but that was a while ago, and new episodes have yet to be ordered, so it might not even happen. Honestly though, I thought the Wizard in Glass was the least strong of the stories, I would like them to just start where the books start.
