So, feel like I'm at an AA meting and introducing myself. But easier to get it out the way and then ask what I want to ask I suppose

I'm from London, England, 46. Have been a huge SK fan since the late 80's, when I 'discovered' reading. Have read most of his work, and there's not much I haven't enjoyed.

Favourite works however, by some distance, are 11/22/63, The Stand, and IT (pretty sure I'm not alone in that top 3). Quite simply, each of those books have had that 'cannot put down' factor to them.

So my question, if anybody is interested in helping answer, is what next?

I haven't read any of the Dark Tower books, Under the Dome, Lisey's Story, Duma Key, Desperation, Doctor Sleep, Insomnia, Revival, Rose Madder, The Talisman & Geralds Game.

Now one thing that always makes me extremely jealous, is when I see someone just starting to read either IT, The Stand, or 11/22/63.

So, which of the books I haven't read make you feel envious, and why? I'm aiming to start on one in the next couple of days, so please, help me choose.........

Hi and welcome. The Dark Tower books are a journey, and require invest of time to read them. I strongly suggest you do read them. Life changing. The Talisman, Duma Key, Liseys Story--actually any of them. Read on!

Thanks for the ideas. With 3 children and Xmas approaching it's probably not the time to try The Dark Tower books!!

But 'Life changing' is far too tempting........

mate, seriously - there is only one journey for you to take now. Take the training wheels off and slip into them worn Cuban heeled Sergio Leone boots. Christmas can wait, as can the kids bath nite. lock yourself away for a month, and join the quest that is bigger than mother Abigail's Route 66 adventure And Jake Eppings soul searching quest put together. by book IV you'll have mastered the local dialect, and will be confusing the family in the high speech of the Baronies.

After completion - I bet you pick up book 1 again, and retrace your steps across the desert in search of the man in black.

long days...

Yeah I've read the Stand twice (both versions).

Also read IT twice. Then when I read 11/22/63, the part about Derry I thought was simply amazing

Starting on The Dark Tower today, grabbed it last night
....good decision my new friend.....this way, when the subtle and not so subtle DT references are made in other novels, you'll be in Easter Egg heaven....and do start with The Gunslinger....I know others have struggled with it, because it's such a departure-but my feeling is that it enhances the whole journey....enjoy, you have such grand adventures awaiting.....
