You may be right but I think he'd have a good shot at having it taken down if he pushed the issue.

Like you, I can't say with 100% for every story. I do know this, the ones that are normally taken down are the actual uploads of his audiobooks. Most of those are completely illegal. It's no longer, just Stephen King's work, but the work of the narrator, not to mention the producers, and even if the text has become public domain, the Narration may not be. The audiobook copyright may still be protected while the text may be free.

This is very true of Edgar Allen Poe's work. His text is free, but most audio recordings are protected. Although, in Poe's case you can use his material for profit.

Not if King has released it to the public domain, which he has done with many stories. You're right if he still holds the copyright protection. King has released a lot of his work, early from copyright, for public use, but not for profit.
Which stories are those? I'm not saying there aren't any but I don't recall any of them being released to the public domain.

First of all, I need to correct myself. I used the term public domain too loosely. I'm actually speaking of "Creative Commons license." which differs in public domain in that you can't use the "Creative Commons license" for profit as where you probably can if it's in the public domain.

I don't know them all, nor do I care to look them up. I only know they exist.
The only one I do know of is in my collection, but I need to look it up; however, the one I have is not a major book but either a collection of essays or a collection of uncollected works.
I can sent it, when I find it, along with the site that has so many of his books online, if you like.
I just need to know how to send them, because you can't post links here, nor send files.

That would be much appreciated. You can send me a private message with the links.
