It seems that Marilyn Manson will have a role in the new Stand series. It will most likely be 10 episodes.

I don't know how he is as an actor. I LOVED the series Salem, for which he wrote the title music. In the third season he was gonna have an acting role, but unfortunately that season is still not broadcast here, and it's not on Netflix either.

Manson has actually been to my town last year and we still exist! He demanded his dressing room had to be painted black and was to have black carpet.
The local news media asked the pastor of our main church how he felt about it, and he said we shouldn't judge Manson for who he is and what he does, that he is only human. The pastor himself is in a band and he said he would go see Manson, but he didn't have time.

....Manson has the creepy persona nailed down, he just needs a little more meat on his bones....I've always "seen" Flagg as a well put together specimen......

It's not confirmed that he will be Flagg! Just that he's in it, and he will do a new version of The Doors' The End for it. He may as well be a follower of Flagg, or someone else entirely. I don't think he will be Flagg myself, because that would be too obvious. I also don't know if his acting is good enough for such a major part.

Manson has a very small part in David Lynch's Lost Highway.

I don't even remember him in that.
He's had parts in several series, but I have no idea how big. I would really love to see Salem season 3, I loved the second season especially. He plays someone called Thomas Dinley, but I have no idea how big - my guess is not so big, because active popular musicians usually simply don't have the time to do big parts. I could be wrong though, because he's in six of the ten episodes.

Lady Gaga starred in American Horror Story- Hotel, so if they want to make the time (and sacrifice to their musical career) then a musician can do it. Manson was one of the people in the orgy scene in Lost Highway. It was something that could have been played by anyone.

You're right. That's more of an extra, probably not even a cameo. Can't remember if he was even that famous back then. It's his first credit on IMDb.

Looks like the original version of The Stand will be available on bluray in September!

I saw that. I hope Steve's audiocommentary will be on it. Then I will probably buy it, as that was never on the releases here. Is it a full audiocommentary by him? Because on The Shining mini-series he's only one of the people on the commentary.

Also, in the fall we will get the full cut of Kubrick's The Shining. That was never available here. I've seen the deleted scenes separately, but never how they were cut into the film.

There's no info on Amazon other than the release date of Sept. 24, 2019.

I wonder what Marilyn Monroe would have made of Marilyn Manson. Didn't she already struggle with her identity? She may have thought he was just another identity of herself. :)

As for Charles, I can only imagine it would amuse him. But absolutely no idea if it is known what he thought of him, or if he said something about it at all.
