Actually (there is that word again), I can't use my tv anymore for certain equipment. It's too old, which means that there is a 'hand shake' problem, which means the tv can't decode the encryption of the most recent content anymore which is done for anti-copy protection.
I will have to buy a new tv, so it will most likely be 4K, which The Shining is coming out in too, as well as other films at the moment, like Don't Look Now. I'm still not totally sure I will like 4K though, as regular HD was more than good enough for me. But it looks like I have little choice, as it's mainly 4K tv's that are available at the moment. Maybe I will love it, it's just that I don't really understand this need to get image sharper and sharper each time - and also that it's even possible to get it sharper each time.

It's not confirmed that he will be Flagg! Just that he's in it, and he will do a new version of The Doors' The End for it. He may as well be a follower of Flagg, or someone else entirely. I don't think he will be Flagg myself, because that would be too obvious. I also don't know if his acting is good enough for such a major part.
....I know he’s not confirmed, just that he would be an obvious pick in my eyes if he had some more beef on him....

I wonder what Marilyn Monroe would have made of Marilyn Manson. Didn't she already struggle with her identity? She may have thought he was just another identity of herself. :)

As for Charles, I can only imagine it would amuse him. But absolutely no idea if it is known what he thought of him, or if he said something about it at all.
....she would have seen him as a kindred spirit....Marilyn spent her entire truncated life trying to be someone else....

Oh yeah, I forgot you have her quoted. The thing with Manson is, that he said when he became Marilyn Manson he became what he always wanted to be, something to that effect. He really became himself as Marilyn Manson.

I'm no authority on the subject of Marilyn Manson, although I do appreciate him and like some of his stuff (his Ramones cover on the We're A Happy Family tribute album is really good). But I believe that originally Marilyn Manson was the name of the band. Wasn't it the same with Alice Cooper? That the bandname became the name used by the singer?
I'm not sure the name Marilyn Manson is to be taken too personally, I believe it has to do with exemplifying two extreme opposites of America: the most iconic actress and the most iconic dark figure. And it alliterates well, of course.

....you are correct on the frontmen becoming the namesakes of the bands.....
