....just remember, everything’s better when you sit on a Ritz.....Playing with fire if we get a saltine and a Ritz...
I'm so sorry you suffer from this Rrty, it must be just awful. I do hope it helps to make your good days simply great though. I'm so pleased you got laughs out of everybody's replies, this is what I will miss most when this board goes to sleep for the last time, the way people can make a sad, scary or upsetting thing... into a positive something else. Thanks to all who replied! I felt much better after reading through the thread. I know the board is closing soon, so I'll try to get this in, being very brief...
Someone asked about the exact nature of where the cracker is. The floor in the kitchen has been taken off for the renovation, so the underneath boards are present and visible. I don't know if all houses are like this, mine's old, but basically there are small gaps in-between the boards. The next level below, the basement, had tiles put on to form a ceiling so you wouldn't see the criss-cross of wood and nails over your head. This was done years ago. So, picture a cracker falls through the gap between one of the wood planks in the kitchen then stops on one of the tiles. At least, I think that's where it is. If this is another space, then I am not certain. There is a pipe next to the cracker, I saw as I peered at it with a flashlight.
I considered the vacuum idea suggested, but it didn't seem to have enough suction.
I don't think I could fit the cheese down the space, but that gave me an idea...maybe a think stick with glue on it? Of course, I am going to go with the "this is fine" advice and not worry about it.
As for the cracker type, it was a Trader Joe's - and I am trying to remember here - Gorgonza-flavored cracker, I think? Not sure if I spelled that right. Comes in a box. Very tasty.
The fork joke was hilarious!
OCD is indeed horrible. The compulsions I have had over the years I honestly believe have held me back in succeeding in life. If I detailed them, I'd say you wouldn't believe them, but for those who have this, you probably would, I suppose. And it's the difference between what you know and how you feel...you know the feelings are ludicrous and nonsense, but you nevertheless lose to the emotion (and it is a nightmare, an absolute nightmare, when an OCD feeling every once in a while actually occurs...even though that is simply a statistical reality and probably won't happen again for a long time, it sets you back terribly).
About the rat eating it: I suppose that is what worried me in the first place. Will it attract something like that that will then damage wires, bring in germs, etc.
But still, I get the humor in that!
I've read all responses, appreciate them all. In all seriousness, helped me a lot. Take care...
