Does your office or business have a holiday party? My office usually has one in the day time (Can't get too wild during that time). This year we are having one in the evening. I saw the movie Office party and do not think that it will get that wild. Has anyone experienced anything interesting at those parties?

Ours if offsite at a hotel in the heart of Manhattan. People have to leave work in shifts so we can get out of the building in an "orderly fashion" and not overcrowd the elevators. It also helps alleviate the crush at the other end. The company issues wrist bands so you can get into the venue (you must also have your company ID) plus it gets you two cocktails/wine/beer. The food is mediocre passed hors d'oeuvres, the music is so loud no one can hear one another and it takes forever to check your coat and then retrieve it later on. I have never gone myself, but this is what is reported by many people. Plus, it's from 3:30pm-6pm next Tuesday.

I'll go home early that day.

I once fell asleep on the toilet at the office Christmas party with my pants down around my ankles. My boss had to come in and wake me up so they could close the building and he could finally go home. I was in that "I love you man!" state of mind which he found to be quite amusing, as he told me after the weekend. He also told me when he first woke me up, once I focused and realized who it was and where I was I said "You can't fire me, I ****!" I don't remember saying that but it sounds like something I'd say. He referenced that line often afterwards. I'm now at another company and have been for years. Sadly my former boss (the one who found me on the toilet) succumbed to cancer. RIP Tom and Merry Christmas!
