I think some of the most interesting things in this book are the characters and the change of settings, and the variety of all the characters and all the dynamics they have.

Starting off with the characters, I’ll start with the kids. Luke Ellis first starts off as seemingly just a child prodigy, wanted by two colleges at age 12. But just that night he gets taken away to The Institute. His steady improvement in Telekinesis is very unique in my opinion, its slow and realistic AND it makes sense as to why he’s getting stronger. I think its very cool how Luke started from just flicking off a lamp to being able to make papers fly everywhere. Along with Avery Dixon as well. He started off as a terrified boy with exemplary powers, but as the story goes on, he grows up and he becomes extremely important. He’s a very lovable and unique character.

And for the settings. I love how even though the settings and point of views change a lot, King still describes details (and even little details) perfectly. I love his idea of getting away from Maine to get to North Carolina. It’s all made up of fascinating and fantastic ideas that would seemingly take months to come up with. I think all the change that goes on in the book was written beautifully, and couldn’t have been done any other way.

It’s a very hard book to put down, and i’d recommend it to anyone, even people who don’t read King’s books. I’m looking forward for the day it gets it’s own movie or tv show. I love how it’s attracting us Minnesotans, it deserves every piece of it. An absolute work of art❤️
