For me The Stand is definitely one of the best miniseries ever produced in my opinion. it could be because I grew up with it or it could be the totally killer soundtrack as well. either way it's not hard to debate the flawlessness with which the characters are fleshed out into real life. Ultimate Good and Evil, the right mixture of fantasy and imagination mixed with gritty realness. best of both worlds steven king, you are THE Man. signed Russell n smith

I thought it was okay. I'd like to see it redone and given more development like The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones. Today's technology would cover a multitude of sins that sullied the original. I didn't like any of the casting choices, frankly. Not one. Ruby Dee may be the exception. The cast won me over in the end but I still was disappointed.

My favorite miniseries is Olive Kittredge that HBO produced. I also liked the '80s mega hit North and South.

I thought the miniseries was okay. It certainly beats the hell out of It, for what it's worth. I think the special effects drag it down considerably. I liked a lot of the casting choices; some I wasn't so happy with. The kid who played Harold and the Bono-wannabe who played Larry.... shudder.

The problem with mini-series in the nineties is that they are all campy and very limited on what was considered Tv appropriate, if some of King's longer novels were turned into a miniseries today I feel they could be much better.
