Here's me positive thought for the day - if, when I go in to HR, my job is not in jeopardy and I don't have to choose another position, I will tell them to just leave everything the way it is. That way I do not have to bump someone else which would in turn set up a sort of 'domino effect' etc.

After speaking to Andy on the phone and telling him about the phone call from the boss, he says it sounds like she was upset to hear a rumour that my position was deleted. I take this as a good thing. - You'd think if I was going to lose my job, my boss would know by now.

I could have lived without this past week of worry - I think I grew a few more gray hairs :question_pig:

It was a real anti-climax!

My job is not affected therefore there is no need for me to choose any other. There was a list on the wall of jobs available if I still wanted to change to something different but I told them I was not interested. I don't want to work for Health Information and I like all the activity involved in my current job.

Obviously their original information session (which occurred on the last day before my 10 days off!) left a lot to be desired and I spent over a week fretting over something that I did not have to worry about.

It was just really bad timing - I had all that time off, which meant I had too much time to think and worry.

On another front, however, I may be able to retire soon with an unreduced pension rather than waiting another three years, eight months and 25 days (but who's counting, right?)

Will find out more about this on November 22nd when I go speak with Health Employee Benefits Department downtown.

It' not often you hear those words.....retire, early, reduced and pension in the same sentence. I hope that works out.

Ummm - actually it is unreduced, not reduced - retiring earlier than expected is what I’m hoping for but I’ll know more in about two weeks time after I speak to someone in that Department (Health Employees Benefits)

I might not have typed it right, but I got it. Stop working early and get the same money. I'm still hoping that works out.
