I doubt that there will be anything that can be done about this at this point, but is there any chance the publishing date can be moved back or forth a week or so?

Margaret Atwood's sequel to Handmaid's Tale (Titled: The Testaments) is releasing the same day and it would be great to see her have a chance at hitting #1 on the NYTimes bestseller list.
Didn't know that! I, for my part, is just as excited over Atwoods book. I'm definitely going to buy it. The Handmaids Tale is a masterpiece!

Well, there's a way around that. If everyone waits to buy stephen's book and only buy Atwood's book on release day -- do your part and wait.

I k8nd of have a felling that margret Atwood will still hit #1 people have been weighting for this book for a while and I think this one will be #1. I wonder if this has something to do with competition with publishing companies

I don't even remember the last time a King book came out that didn't hit #1 immediately.

(gonna go take a look)

With my reduced activity here lately I've only just found out about this book. I've said many times, Stephen King is at his best when he writes vulnerable children. He just yanks so hard at your heart strings that it becomes impossible not to get attached to the characters and their plight. Character like the losers club, Charlie from firestarter, dinah from the langoliers, ellie from pet cemetery, abbra from dr. Sleep, Trisha from Tom Gordon, Jake from the dark tower. Some of those characters and stories are a lot more popular than others, but they all gripped me and reached out to my parental instincts just the same. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Not something I've ever really noticed, so thanks for bringing that to my attention and you are quite right. Looking for ward to the new one myself.

Anyone heard an announcement on when the Institute book tour will start? Wonder which cities King will visit this time.
....he’s not touring the last I heard......
No tour for this one unless something happens last minute. We're usually deep into preparations by this stage of the game so I don't expect there to be any appearances other than possibly one of the national morning shows. The good news for fans about that is that it's because he is so busy with writing new material for books and film, etc.

Maybe that tour for Sleeping Beauty took a lot out of him (or he's just tired of touring).

(plus that other thing you said - about being so busy writing new material, which is always great to hear!)
