Good afternoon. I am a Literature Instructor (college) and long-time SK fan.

Does anyone have information concerning whether any SK works can be found open resource on the web?

I would love to integrate a work (short story or novella) into my course; however, textbooks are already quite expensive, and I am hoping to allow my students to at least experience SK without additional cost.

Thanks so much in advance!

You can often find used copies of some of his older books at thrift shops (if that helps at all). How many students are in your class?

The only one that I can think of off the top of my head is The Plant, which we have available for download on Stephen's site. You can find the links on this page.

Students at our local high school are required to purchase the books for required reading each year. Average cost for paperback copies is less than $15......just tossing that out there as an option.

Thank you so much for all of the wonderful information everyone! I appreciate all the feedback.
As far as the cost discussion, I teach at a small college spread over multiple campuses in a rural area and we attempt, as much as possible, to keep textbook costs down for our students. In fact, we are diligently working on a fully open resource option at this point so that the classes can be as cost-effective as possible.
Again, I so appreciate these replies. I will work with our librarian to see if using "The Plant" would be an option.
:)

Unfortunately, my students are quite spread out geographically (multiple campuses) and redistributing class sets each semester would be difficult :( However, that is something I may need to look into further. Thank you!
