Do you think it’s just gonna be another shabby horror flick or do you think it’s ginna be successful like IT?
Mary Lambert captured the book. The acting left much to be desired, but the film's tone is perfect. I think the remake will be middle of "the rud", too, not because I am afraid to wager but because I was disappointed in the trailer. If it succeeds, great. If not, 's fine. It's been thirty years so I'm glad someone ventured to try. I will be buying a ticket.

Yes, the tone of the book certainly comes through on the screen in the original version. Of the two lead actors, the guy is the best. The lady from Star Trek gave a very wooden, mostly unemotional performance and I can't believe that Lambert didn't get rid of her after seeing the dailies. The best performances were Fred Gwynne as Judd and the cat that played Church.

Yeah, I agree. I do think her performance giving the Zelda speech was convincing, though.

I hate the bleak lighting style, too much like cheap late 2000’s/earl 2010’s horror movie lighting. Other than that, guess we’ll see
Or 50s, 60s, 70s, etc style...

Horror movie lighting hasn't really changed much...

Saw trailer for new one at a recent family excursion to theater over Christmas to see Aquaman (women just HAD to see fish guy)...

Not buying a ticket myself. Read book once. Watched original once.

Since I started begetting cannot bring myself to imagine the feelings of parents in such a situation...

Not really, this is definitely a relic of Xtra-edg-e 2000’s-2010’s horror movies, used in the Rob Zombie Halloween Remakes, amusement, NM on Elm Street remake, all kinds of shlock

Dude, did you see the OG NM on Elm Street???

Things that go bump in dimly lit movies have been around since the beginning of silents...

So really.
