Apologies if this has been asked, I didn't want to read through too many threads as I didn't want any spoilers.

I haven't read any of the Dark Tower books! I will be getting onto them in the next few weeks. Now, what is the order they need to be read in? I know that there are also other books that relate to the series and want to read in order and not spoil anything for myself! :hammer:

You will need to read It, Insomnia, The Stand, Salem's Lot, Hearts in Atlantis, The Mist, The Eyes of the Dragon, Everything's Eventual, Rose Madder, The Talisman, From a Buick 8, Firestarter, Dreamcatcher, Cujo, The Long Walk, Misery, and The Dead Zone to help provide some background information that enriches the DT story BEFORE reading the actual Dark Tower series. Then read the Dark Tower series in published order. Hope this helps. :p

I say, don't worry about reading most of those other books. Just read the Dark Tower Series in chronological order. Three books you will want to read along with the series. Before, during or after, is Black House, Insomnia & Hearts In Atlantis ( especially Low Men In Yellow Coats.) You do not need to read them to understand the series but they are very good to read to understand some important background events & characters that are connected to the Dark Tower Series.

Hello everyone!

Still regarding this topic, sorry about that, but it is an interesting thing to know, at least for me.

I was researching in Brazil some sites about the order to "read" some book, just to have a good background in the DT stories, and I found the suggestion below. A really would like your master opinions about that, once this is the biggest site regarding SK, I'm right?

Order - Book
01° The Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger
02° Bag of Bones
03° The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three
04° Eyes of the Dragon
05° The Dark Tower III: The Wastelands
06° The Stand
07° The Dark Tower IV: Wizard and Glass
08° The Dark Tower VIII: *The Wind Through the Keyhole
09° IT
10° Insomnia
11° Salem`s Lot
12° The Dark Tower V: Wolves of the Calla
13° Misery
14° Desperation
15° The Regulators
16° The Dark Tower VI: Song of Susannah
17° Everything`s Eventual (Read Tales: "The Little Sisters of Eluria" and "Everything`s Eventual")
18° The Talisman
19° Hearts in Atlantis
20° Black House
21° The Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower
22° Rose Madder
23° Buich 8
24° The Mist

if it were me, i wouldn't break up the main series that much. i actually read a lot of the side novels before i ever read the dark tower series, and i didn't lose anything from it. if anything i'd say read the dark tower novels, read the side books, and then circle back around and re-read the dark tower, because you'll spot a few more things this way. you don't really need the side novels to get what's going on in the dark tower.

ETA: wind through the keyhole does take place sort of mid journey, so that one would be fine to read sort of in the middle like that.
