Just a quick question(s) on ordering the new book through the link on the site...

I want to do that to support independent booksellers as mentioned. Curious if anyone has done that yet. Do I have to set up an account? (No big deal, necessarily.) What happens after that...the order gets routed to an independent seller in my area and is shipped by that company? Can I order another book at the same time (given my previous question, would that mean the possibility of two separate shipments?)? And I guess I just click Bookshop once I click on the relevant book (Bleeds), even though it still has the Simon and Schuster logo when I do that?

And I see that the release date is listed as April 21...curious too if that is correct. A search gives two results, one for the 28th and one for the 21st (which is what the link to the site reads). I hope it is the 21st, be nice to read it even earlier.

Thanks...

I'm pretty sure it's the 21st, but I'll let Moderator answer your question/s about ordering.

The release was moved again, so correct date is the one we have listed here, i.e. April 21st.

I'm proud to say I successfully ordered the book the other day via the Bookshop link. It clearly spelled out what money would go to the independent bookstore fund. Glad to have helped.

I guess it may be a small wait for the book as there are very understandable delays related to the implementation of safe-handling procedures in the shipping process. I look forward to receiving King's new title.

I did want to ask if anyone could tell me if there are introductions to the stories, or a foreword/afterward? Maybe all three? I can't seem to find a suitable preview of the book to get a table of contents. Thanks for any info...

Hi rrty,

I bought my copy today, already plowed through the first story. There is no foreword or introduction to the stories, there is a few pages of Author’s Notes at the end of the book, I’m not sure what that involves as I don’t want to be spoiled.

Thank you for the info. Great to hear you already made it through one of the tales, as that must mean it's good. Also great to know there are story notes, as I always love those...

Sorry to hear you have to wait for the book, kelliblue. I know what you mean about online accounts...it's a pain to set them up to purchase one item.

Maybe a supermarket/drugstore in your area might be selling copies, or Walmart? I couldn't really say, depends on your locale, I guess. Best of luck in getting it.

Still no book and Amazon had taken my money almost a month ago from my pre-order. That's the last time I pre-order a book... At least that way I'll still have my money until I get a book.

Shipping (not just Amazon but other places as well) is very slow right now. I read somewhere on Amazon's site that they were prioritizing essentials so maybe that has something to do with it. I sent something by priority mail envelope a couple weeks ago and it took 9 days to get to it's destination instead of 2. That was $8 I'd like to have back. :)

I consider a new Stephen King book an essential item.

Agree, know many who pre ordered from Amazon and keep getting delayed status. And, yes- priority USPS is no longer 2-3 day. Tracking for order is tacking routes never heard of before. Airline delays/ less flights available?

But yet the wife and daughter have gotten all their trivial crap items and tchotchkes delivered from Amazon they've ordered since the order for the King book was placed. :(
