..the individual who took the fatal heads hot from the grassy knoll is presently incarcerated in the Illinois state pen for attempted murder on a PO. His name is James Files. He was 21 at the time. His boss Charles Nicoletti was using a long rifle and struck JFK in the back from the Dal Tex building. Files had a prototype long barreled 22 pistol that was bolt action. He fired 1 shot with a mercury tipped high velocity round that was designed to explode on impact. The shooter from under the triple underpass is not known but suspected to be a hired hit man from Italy. Files received the weapon earlier as a prototype that didn't go into production until about 1965 from David Atley Philips his CIA handler. Both Files and Nicoletti worked for Sam Giancana from Chicago organised crime. Himself, the CIA. LBJ, TX governor Connelly, certain factions of the US military an FBI directed by John Edgar Hoover were the planners..and primarily responsible for the cover up..Oswald was a low level FBI and CIA asset and liason with the New Orleans organised crime. Oswald was being set up months in advance to be the scapegoat. For example..the videotaped incident of Oswald passing out pro Castro pamphlets in New Orleans. In Oswald shot mind he was creating a situation where known and unknown Cuban supporters were being taped and recorded on record. In reality it was a scam on him to further perpetuate him as a lone nut communist sympathizer after JFK was killed.

Well, maybe SK went with the official story because it's more well known and he had more material to work with.

Stephen King did a hatchet job on Oswald..it was personal. He is on record as believing Oswald shot JFK. All should read one of the best investigative books written on JFK by Jim Marrs ..Crossfire ..The plot to kill Kennedy .. came out even before it was known of James Files as the grassy knoll shooter .. in it he absolutely shreds the official bullshit government sponsored lie/story. .along with the Warren Commission..He shreds the story placed upon Oswald as to being a communist. In serious research into Oswalds time in the Marine Corps where he attended a top secret communications school.. to his real reason to defecting to Russia only to return a year later traveling first class with state department approval to bring home a Russian bride.. no jail time ..no incarceration or debriefing... Oswald in his mind he was an under cover spy working on behalf of his country to gather intelligence against Cuba.. or so he was told....In reality Marrs points to interviews with many employees with in the school book depository building that morning that had Oswalds behavior ..calm ..serene...and location...not anywhere near the 6th floor at the time of the shooting, but in reality was in the breakroom on the 2nd floor enjoying a coke. What is more disturbing Marrs points out in Crossfire the extensive manipulation of the Warren Commission upon the wittnesses.. the FBI intimidation of them to downright lying about what they told the Warren commission .. and the subsequent suspicious deaths of hundreds of Americans that were around or on Dealey Plaza that morning..many found murdered...C*I#A@....The magic bullet theory as rediculous as it already is .. was only made possible by gerald ford future president suggesting and obtaining approval of the other Commission members that in order perpetuate the lone nut theory by using the magic bullet theory.. that the bullet that is clearly visible in autopsy photos that struck JFK in the back had to be raised 4 inches and said that he was hit in the back of the neck. . or other wise the already totally rediculous bullshit that was the magic bullet theory couldnt account for the hole in his throat..

As someone else pointed out, 11/22/63 is a book of FICTION. It was not intended to be an exposé about the JFK assassination. And if you missed that and Jake and Sadie's relationship as being the real story, you totally missed the point of the book.

My real opinion on it is a bit varied. And it still allows for SK's take to exist.

Oswald did at least fire at JFK. He was involved. however, his documented involvement with Clay Shaw in New Orleans raises many questions.

So a better way to phrase this poll was "do you believe Oswald acted completely alone" or "did Oswald kill JFK".

The fact is no one knows for sure but Oswald. Even if there was no evidence that he had no "handlers", that could just mean they were very careful. I often compared the similarities between Oswald and McVeigh's statements of being "patsies". Maybe it's the thought of that kind of mind or perhaps there is something there.

In the end, what comes to mind are the words of John Candy's character Deano in JFK when he said that Garrison was a mouse fighting a gorilla. And that they (conspirators) would would do a tap dance on [Garrison's] head and say cock-a-doodle-do. Even if there is a conspiracy, those in power who partcipated are so powerful that this many years later, there is still no conviction or anyone stepping forward to claim responsibility. Or Oswald acted alone.

Occam's razor isn't always right, but it is most of the time.

I actually took at least one point of the book to be someone my age, the kids of a Baby Boomer, getting to live the life of their parents and see what life used to be like. A fish out of water story. The reason for being there was almost a side story in some ways.

In all my studies of JFK and his murder.. regarding Oswald.. I am convinced he was a patsy .. that he was clueless to the roll he was playing .. that the police knowingly marched him into public on camera knowing he would be killed ... and that he did know in advance of JFK .. that he was to be killed that morning...for one.. his behavior and location in the school book depository that morning basically proves his innocence.. to the shooting

.. HOWEVER... i DO believe he may have had prior knowlege of the planned murder of JFK...it makes no sense that he was not outside watching .. trying to get a view of Kennedy.. not with his interest in government.. and by James Files assertion that Owwald showed up at Files hotel room the week before the shooting.. assisted Files with showing him all around dallas.. dealey plaza ..getting to know the escape routes etc... to helping Files sight in the assasination weapons and retrieving shell casings from the ground... however according to files ...the subject of JFK never came up at all durring the few days they spent in each others company...Files and Oswald both were instramental in training cuban rebels in southern florida prior to the bay of pigs invasion ( this is where Files said he first met Oswald ).. ..that JFK pulled air support from the invasion at the last minute leading to its outright failure and death or incarceration and torcher of many of those cuban national rebels .. to say that files .. the cia .. anyone who had in a hand in planning the bay of pigs did in fact hate Kennedy's guts would be an understatement. JFK was despised by many ..

As I explained in post #55 I do not think Oswald was a shooter at all .. however and the post explains why .. I feel he had prior knowledge of the planned killing and by his actions was there fore complicit... but totally oblivious to the fact that he was set up to take the fall.

2nd reply..I actually not far into the book as i alluded to in the post that I just started reading it and it struck me from the start how much more so than the series that King was seriously pushing Oswald as the assassin

well thanks for explaining it to me. It might shock you to find out I can read, hence my love of SK. He is very wordy after all... :)

I mentioned McVeigh. The reason being he also stated things in his writ of Mandamus that seemed to indicate he didn't realize he was the patsy.

Or they are both liars that just committed a heinous crime.

I'll step out now as I probably know as much or more than you about this specific conspiracy theory and chased this rabbit down too many holes. The blue lines on the sprocket holes in the Zapruder film, the 34 point match of a print in the shooter's corner being identified as belonging to Malcolm Wallace, the memo Hoover sent to the office of the CIA director about being visited on the day of the assassination by a later unable to be identified agent "George Bush" and all the other greatest hits.

There aren't answers except the ones in your mind is what I found out.
