Karen got some of her history today. She will be 3 years old on July 25th. We were told she was only 1 year old.
She has been in a shelter for the most of her life.
That explains why she doesn't know how to play with toys.
I can't believe no one wanted her for that long.
Then I told Karen that she was waiting for us to bring her home.
She now has the good life!

She was only used to dry food when we got her, but we didn't know what kind. So, Karen bought a bag of some kind of grain free, and she would have nothing to do with it.
On her first day with us, I was trying to get some dinner, and she was going nuts. She was so hungry, so Karen went to the store, and picked up a couple cans of Fancy Feast.
Well, that ruined her for dry. She no longer wanted it. We found out the next day that she was eating Purina dry. Got a bag. Did not want.
I don't know about not giving them fish, but some of what she has is fish. She likes the ones in gravy. She also gets the Fancy Feast treats that are in a gravy. She gets one of those a day. It is real tuna, or beef, not imitation.
She is just a Fancy Feast girl now!
APP, if you are giving dry, get the grain free ones. They are the better ones. No corn or fillers in it.
We had a time finding one for the puppy, since there are more adult dog foods that are grain free than for puppies. We did find one, and she loves it.

Oh, they will be best friends very soon, if they aren't already! How sweet!

Thank you for the info about the food. Now mine are both being finicky, but they are definitely hungry. I think Alex, the one who just had pancreatitus, is over her prescription wet food. It is very bland, so I don't blame her. I hear good things about Fancy Feast, so I will get a few to try out tonight after work.

It has been said that Fancy Feast is the same as McDonald's to us. I don't know how true that is because I am not going to eat the cat food to find out!
The puppy food is Natures' Own.
