Simon paused to remember what he'd left off his grocery list. "Ay, I doth remember...coconut oil and kale."

Lady Margaret sighs as she realized the cat has not only peed in her hope chest, but eaten part of her treasured love letter.

One day on holiday when I was young, my sister and I walked into the water. She held my hand and whispered encouragement as the undertow pulled at my tiny legs and the fish darted around my knees. She promised not to let go.

She did about a minute later when a wave containing a loaded diaper and two cigarette butts crashed into the side of her face.

(Ha! You tricked me. I thought, DanaJean is doing a serious, sweet one...then you pulled a Jack Handy move. :))

The clopping hooves and wet manure weren't helping her headache. The rain hadn't let up since the hansom cab deposited her on Wilkes Street. She would not cancel her appointment and afternoon tea with her publisher because Mr. Abercrombie was not only the reason her novel was seeing the light of day but he was her opium dealer. She shook her umbrella and walked faster.

Bridgette and baby Adelene watch Jacque with compelling eyes. Jacgue, in turn, stares back in silence. Each has but one thought.... were the h*ll are the life preservers?

The first thing Davy noticed when he arrived at University was there were no people milling about the campus, no rowboats in the canal. He saw no staff and no custodians in the dormitory and his hand froze on the door knob of his dorm room at the sound of whispers. Once inside he saw shadows scampering into his bathroom and an empty, clean room with two beds. A thin, pale boy pounced from the bathroom wearing a pointed hat and bifocals and cried, "Welcome to Hogwarts!"

I really liked your response here Doc Creed :
