I'm a little late to the game when it comes to watching The Mist on Netflix, so I decided to go ahead and load it up. I'm familiar with both the book and the movie, so I went in hoping for good things.

I watched just over 2 minutes and turned it off.

When the very first thing a show does is kill the dog they spent the first minute and a half letting the guy (and us) become attached to, that's all I need to see. Killing the dog is the worst sort of sensationalism. It's contrived and heavy-handed emotional manipulation. Frankly, I expected much better. If that's the best they've got to try and get me interested, then whatever follows can't possibly be worth watching.

I'll pass on this one.

I gave it 2 and one quarter episodes and decided it's a bunch of hooey. At least you only wasted 2 minutes. I'll never get that time back...

That's when I'd stop, too.

I wouldn’t take issue with anyone not persevering with The Mist television series, I made it to the end of the first episode and that was more than enough for me. Having said that, they kill the dog at the start of John Wick too and - contrived and heavy-handed or not - that is a top notch movie.

I was dubious about this when it was announced. I watched anyway. I watched it all! And I was left feeling like they either should never have bothered at all, or they'd completely missed a wide-open goal (probably because they seemed to have missed the point of the story).
I wasn't surprised, and was in fact mildly relieved, that it got canned at S1.

I started watching and could not stop. It was pretty entertaining and put unusual twists on the original story. Acting was OK for the most, of course some actors could have played better, but they could have played worse, like in oh so many other series.
The series left me wanting for more. It's not like Walking dead, where it's like"oh look, there is another zombie, and another bad guy trying to steal our food, and another drama for the 100th time".
Here, I have no idea what will happen next. Well, nothing, apparently, since the series stopped.
But it is definetly worth a watch, even with its many plot holes and goofs.
