I like Josh Hartnett, even though he apparently attended The Keanu Reeves School of Acting.

The early Showtime pre"view"s were only voiceovers by the English gal, and I thought for sure that it was Lila from Dexter (I have a great ear, two even), but I was wrong.

I still have little idea what the show is about, on, or under.

If I still have cable + electricity + a modicum of neuron function I'll be watching too.

Hm. Haven't seen anything about this one. Research needed!

I liked Josh Hartnett in 30 Days of Night--decent in Lucky #Sleven, too. I don't think I've seen him in anything but those--OH Halloween H2O! Horrible haircut in that one (lol). NO ONE is as earnestly bad as Keanu Reeves in Much Ado About Nothing (well, maybe Keanu Reeves in Dracula).

I thought Keanu was excellent in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure - after that, not so much. Brad is good eye candy but his horribly flat voice drives me insane. Can you imagine trying to have a fabulous marital argument with that? He'd just have to never speak to me if we were married. I don't really know anything about Josh Harnett, but he's cute.

HAHA! New math teacher at DD#2's school looks like a cross between Hartnett & Amityville Horror-era James Brolin. We stare a lot when he's on parking lot duty during school pick up ;) His older (and almost as good looking) brother is vice principal--she says everyone, even the boys, go silent when they walk down the hall together :D

I love that - even the boys can appreciate the studliness. Oh my gosh - James Brolin was so handsome then!

We're getting close to Series Launch.

I just hope they don't sex it up too much. That killed True Blood for me.
Me too! I really wanted to like True Blood.

I know I know. I'm the resident sex killer on this board, but dang it! Tell me a good story! If I want to watch people going at it, I'll watch porn thank you very much. And for the record, I don't want to watch people going at it.

Dana: We're on almost the same page. If sex is integral to the story (which is always the most important thing), then use it. Gratuitous softcore rarely works...nor does useless hardcore (Sevigny in "The Brown Bunny"). As a single man, I like p0rn for about 20 seconds 3-4 times a week. I like story 34 hours of every day.
Yes, if nudity or sex is important to the plot, than it has to be there. But, when they just start throwing it in to grab viewers because they showed boobies and that guarantees numbers, then I'm done with it. To me, when nudity or sex comes into play too often, I lose faith in the team of creators. To me it says that they feel they don't have a strong enough story to hook the readers or viewers. It comes off as a desperate tactic to me. Now, if they prove that it is important to the plot, then I'm on board with what they have to do to tell the story.

What to my wondering eyes should appear...

The first episode is already available on my Showtime On Demand.

I understand that they "frontload" these new shows, especially the horror genre, but I liked it enough to keep going.

Full frontal dead dong
Okay, I really liked the show. I loved the atmosphere of the sets and locations, I thought the characters were intriguing. They have me. And yes! The fact that the monster
was nude and spread eagle had me saying, "it's about time." Women are so objectified, it was actually refreshing to see male nudity without sexuality attached to it in any way. I applaud that move.

I will keep watching.
