I liked their take on the portrait. But, he really didn't have to kill Angelique. The painting looked nothing like Dorian, and why in the hell would she guess it was him? Even though she said she would still love him, so they had the character knowing obviously. But that didn't ring true because no one is going to look at a portrait and immediately leap to, "Hey! that's the real you." (In a story of vampires, witches, werewolves--riiiight ) I guess he couldn't take any chances.

I was entertained with the turn Brona took, and the creature still is the most captivating character to me. Just watching him deal with his emotions: anger, confusion, sadness, happiness -- I enjoy watching this actor.

I agree with all that Dana Jean . John Clare is such a multi-faceted character. I find it hard to believe that he's got any real evil in him - he's just heart-broken and lonely, but he might surprise us. Dr. Frankenstein is a mess. Brona was quite a surprise. I loved the scene where Sembene grabbed Malcolm - KNOW WHO YOU ARE - or something like that !!! All in all, I'm loving this season.

I am 3 episodes behind, so not reading previous comments until I catch up. But, I am loving the witches! Just watched the flashback episode last night (ep 3) and I kept thinking of Susan and Rhea from Wizard and Glass, especially at the beginning. This season so far is much better than season 1, I think. Scarier.

And Frankenstein is still a favorite character. If it wasn't for him, I probably would have given up on Seas 1. But, I am glad I didn't. The witches are so scary and evil.

I was thinking exactly of Susan and Rhea of the Coos then too!

I had quite a Sunday night - Penny Dreadful, True Detective and 2 episodes of Nurse Jackie to watch. By the time I went to sleep I was so worried about everyone. I don't watch much TV, so it's weird for me to have 3 shows to keep up with. I'm in big trouble when Project Runway starts (fi they're doing a summer season).

Haven't seen this weeks yet...but last week? woo baby! "never will I kneel to a man again" Can't wait to see how this undead partnership between Lily/Brona and The Creature plays out. I agree with you guys, The Creature is a great as yet fully untapped character. I wonder if Dorian recognizes Brona from their first season tryst but she doesn't remember him(nor anyone else for that matter. yet) Also loved all of the mirrors leading to his portrait. True sign of his vanity. I hope against hope Ethan sees her somewhere. I also want him to go full on wolf. And can he and Vanessa just hook up already and get it over with? You can't tell me there's no chemistry there.

All our players are spread out over the globe now.

I found the witch storyline very weak, the final confrontation boring.

I was devastated when the owners of the Waxwork locked John up. Who was the real monster? And, I found satisfaction in their ending. He should've taken out the girl too. I would very much like them to pursue a friendship with John Clair (Clare) and Vanessa. That, I think, could be so odd and interesting.

Brona and Dorian Gray are little crazy powder kegs.

The doctor is a wuss and can go.

Werewolf guy can be euthanized any time.

What's his face going back to Africa with the body is good. He can stay there.

Agreed! They could have done a much better job. The whole scene with Malcolm and Dr. Frank having scary visions totally didn't scare me at all, bored the hell out of me.

So, did Vanessa "sell her soul" anyway by cursing down her demon with that forbidden language? I thought she had defeated something, but then she burned the Crucifix (that scared me!).

I'm bored by Ethan - was very sad to see Sembene go.

Brona and Dorian are nutso, but they're doomed to live forever. I'd be furious too.

John Clare is heartbreaking. I just love him. He's so intense and full of love.

I think Malcolm is hot.

I absolutely loved the finale! I thought the head witches demise was fitting and there is still one out there....
The fetish doll with Satan/Master/whomever talking was fabulous. I found it appropriately creepy. Finally got to see Ethan go all wolf and I'm sorry Holly but HE is hot =D I agree, I wonder if Vanessa did indeed sell her soul at the end? Sure seemed like it. I also agree with DJ that what the Creature did was satisfactory. Where will everyone be next season? Next YEAR!

Oh.Dear.God.

So, I'm loving the way we're finding out more about each individual character. I don't think I'm spoiling anything by saying that.

But WTH are Brauna and Dorian up to? That kind of scene freaks me out. It's why I can't watch American Horror Story. Something about
mixing sex with blood and violence does me in
. The movies Looking for Mr. Goodbar and Dead Ringers flipped me out. So. I'm hanging in there any way. But they've gotta stop that.

I am intrigued by what we found out about John Clare. Very sad.

Um, worried about Chandler.

John Clare

and Miss Ives met int he insane asylum. He was her orderly. But neither recognizes each other when they meet once he becomes The Monster . I'm so glad we're getting to see more of John's backstory.

Oh crap! Wait! He was the demon? I am in the process of watching the latest episode where she is being hypnotized. I hope by the end I understand this better.

Dana: We're on almost the same page. If sex is integral to the story (which is always the most important thing), then use it. Gratuitous softcore rarely works...nor does useless hardcore (Sevigny in "The Brown Bunny"). As a single man, I like p0rn for about 20 seconds 3-4 times a week. I like story 34 hours of every day.
Well said sir! I'm sorry the melon finally broke...

I bet you've figured it out by now. I thought the episode was very enlightening. The Ogre nearly fell asleep. But it was so informative. John Clare is some kind of sweet. Wonderful person. Can't wait to see what he's up to now.

Yes. I love John Clare.
Am I forgetting, how did Dr. Frankenstein get John? How did John die? Do we know this and I forgot? Please tell me if you know Holly, I just can't remember.

He is still a very complicated character and so well acted. Every emotion goes through him and to me. I feel what he is feeling. It is such a gift to watch a professional do his work so well. More John Clare!!!!!

We don't know how he died or how Dr. Frankenstein got him, but he was quite wicked early in the series - poor guy was really just craving love though. I was so hoping we'd see how that happened but not yet.

I can't decide if I want to read or watch a show tonight. I guess I'll go on to bed and see what happens. Usually I don't stay awake long enough to choose - sleep pulls me in.
