Hey I thought you guys would like to see this. Film-maker Dennis Widmyer tweeted this as the official start of filming for the new version. Take note of the clap-board's illustration, which is taken straight from one of the paperbacks. Obviously this design won't be for the film, but I thought it was pretty cool.
I have a question for you as well. I came across the illustration below on a movie site that linked to the story above. This is a great piece of art isn't it? Does anyone know the source, e.g. new paperback art-work, fan art, etc.? Boy would I love to get a t-shirt with this design.

In an episode of Marvel's Agents of Shield Season 4 a prisoner is reading a SK book (you see it quite often) and I just couldn't read the title even though the cover seemed familiar. Turned out it was Pet Sematary, but in Spanish.

I don't know what to expect from this remake. This feels so unnecessary since the original was quite perfect and done to SK's own wishes and screenplay. I hope they somehow reinvent it, and it won't be like Carrie which was too similar to the original.

'Tis some groovy artwork. Had a free minute so I did a Google image search. Apparently maybe it's an album cover?
Here's the image search results:

If you scroll down to the 'visually similar images' you may get a more specific idea. :redface-new:

I think the old Pet Sematary movie is quite adequate but maybe because of new special effects, it is worth a remake. On retrospect, after watching the last IT movie, I think the old version with Tim Curry et al, is superior. But it is good to see remakes. The one they should be remade of King's is The Running Man because the movie isn't much like the book. I don't know how they could make a movie out of The Long Walk though.

I've been looking forward to a pet sematary remake since it was first announced years ago. I hope it turns out well but I was not a fan of starry eyes which was written and directed by Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch who are directing the remake. Would have been amazing if they ended up going with Andres Muschietti who wanted to direct the project.

I wouldn't mind seeing the remake. This is my favorite Stephen King novel. I've read it several times.
Welcome, Kelliblue. It's my favorite too. My biggest hope for this adaptation is to see heartfelt performances. If the director can do this, while creating a genuine scary atmosphere like in The Blair Witch Project, I will be happy. One thing Mary Lambert's version had going for it was the soundtrack, location, and faithfulness to book. I'm more than a little curious how Zelda will appear in the new version.

So production on the remake wraps tomorrow. I find it strange however that there has been no casting announcements other than Louis, Rachel, Jud, Gage and Ellie. I'm more than curious to know if they will be keeping victor, Zelda, Norma etc in the film and who they cast for those roles. Anyone hear anything? Also hoping that they keep this rated R and don't make a watered down pg13. As It clearly showed last year there is a definite market for a well done R rated film.
