I'm going to tell a bit about my experience in Albuquerque now. :)
I had a really good time. Spent many hours in line and chatted with some nice people. I also made a friend in Nornee. I hope to be able to stay in touch with her. :) I wasn't able to get many pictures because they asked us not to take any during the talk. (I'll see what I can do about getting the couple of blurry pics I did get into my computer and share them soon.)
Listening to Stephen King and George R.R. Martin was just fun. They talked about family, stories, inspirations...I know if I try to go into specifics I'll likely just mess it all up, so I say it's best for you all to wait until you can see it for yourselves. Which should happen...they recorded the whole thing and a woman from the bookstore that hosted the event said it would be available for public viewing soon. I forgot her name, sorry. She also gave a nice thank you to Marsha, Moderator, and some others for all the hard work they did making the tour happen and be successful.
It was the first time I got to see SK and I'm so glad I got to go! I will remember it always. I had an excellent seat, right in the middle with just a few people in front of me. Oh, and I didn't get a signed book, but I'm going to enjoy the story just the same. I'll just keep hoping that one day I'll be able to add a signed book to my SK collection.

My trip was good and nothing really bad happened. The car was great, the weather was hot and dry. The hotel was nice. There was just one thing...They have some really creepy bugs in Albuquerque! I am not a fan of big bugs! They say they are water bugs, I say they look like huge cockroaches. Gross...ick...shudder. They jump at you, too. In my attempt to get away from one that was harassing me and jumping on me, I tripped over something and fell all over the sidewalk. I was glad there was almost no one around to see me! I'm sure it was hilarious! Acting girlie about a bug...:a11:

It was so great to meet you, Debbie and Vince!! I am so glad we got to hang out! We shall definitely keep in touch! I still say those icky, disgusting things were cockroaches!!
On the evening after the SK event, I did a ghost walk downtown! Very entertaining! What better way to end my ABQ visit!
If the King Con event was in August, I could probably have made it! Please keep me posted about the next one! Hope you have healed up good as new!!

I truly don't get the 'signed book thing' Not only Sai King - but why?
The pleasure of meeting the eyes and smile and say 'thank you' would be quite enough for me. I don't think I would trust myself to speak further than that.
I understand what you mean, meeting him is actually on my bucket list. I want the book as a memento of the occasion, one I can pass down to my children along with the collection I will have in the future. Plus it's the first Stephen King book I have ever read. (Mr Mercedes)

The only problem with that is that when he goes on these tours you actually don't get to meet him anymore. The books are pre-signed and he is up on a stage. You get to see him but there's no more one-on-one contact where you can say 'Thankee-sai!' and shake his hand.
