Clever and coy; an inspired choice, made me think of Ben and Bev. Hadn't heard this in a long time.

"Come Together" The title belies the IT monster feeling, it's the lyrics. He can be anything and he is calling the children to come together.

Because of the coming of age themes I would have to pick
"Peggy Sue" for the themes of being young and free and in love (plus the rise 50's rock is a big theme in the novel).
And
"Peggy Sue got Married" for the themes of growing up and realizing things aren't always going to be the same as when you were young, and that people you were closed to might become distant or meet someone else

Specifically for the 2017 movie I would say Scaretale by Nightwish (ignore the lousy singer, this was a black page in the history of Nightwish, singer-wise). Totally appropriate for the crazy circus theme that the movie builds on. However, for the novel I need some more time to come up with a perfect theme song. I'm looking for something eerie, something more mature, something dark and twisted.
