I didn't go in to work today. Decided I needed a 'me' day. My body is tired and hurting some from the type of work that I do. I had some things that needed to get done such as running to the post office to mail off some packages, get a haircut, pick up some milk, etc. I have enough 'sick' time to cover the day so I won't lose any money or get docked a 'point'. I figured 'What the heck, that's what it's for, right?' I don't like not going to work when I'm not sick but too bad. Gotta treat myself right every once in a while. I haven't taken any time off since early last year when I got the flu, missed two days and went back to work sick as a dog. My doctor said I should have taken a week off but there's no way I could have done that as I was a new employee and couldn't make a bad impression. Anyway, due to the hours that I work I can never be on here when the board is open so I'm spending time here today to touch base with my folken and wish everyone a great weekend!!!

Me Days are important. A person needs to be whole in mind, body and spirit. Enjoy your day. Nothing wrong / you earned the day. Love seeing your posts!!

Your absence has been felt. So glad you are having a day doing the things you enjoy!

Thanks for saying that! I sure do miss being on here and being able to interact with my friends 'live'. Things just keep on changing and sometimes not for the better but I guess we all have to adapt, right?
Do your hours fit going over to The Playground when the SKMB is closed? Lay out is very much the same and you are missed.

I need to go check it out. I work from 6am to 230 pm Pacific time. I've been meaning to get on over there but I am one of those people that don't like change. :)
Do not like change either!! Think of it as the backyard playground to the SKMB. Same Tet, so you already know the "family". Almost same layout, relaxed atmosphere, no expectations required- just fun.

Aha! The true reason for playing hooky is revealed in your final sentence! ;;D:m_bigwink:

Just pulling your leg - I understand completely - you could call it a "Mental Health Day" - a sort of preventive medicine type of thing. You have to make sure that you take time for yourself. (I used to do this as well - sometimes you just need a day for yourself). -Good for you! :okay:

Hope you had a good weekend too

I'll be taking this Monday and Tuesday off!! The local SNAP folks will be coming out to convert my 20 year old electric forced air furnace and my 5 year old water tank over to gas. I can't wait!! The local power company installed the gas meter about a week and a half ago. That cost over $1,600 to do but since I qualified last October as 'low income' (I was out of work for 5 months after I quit my job in June of 2016 and they base your income on the previous year from when you apply for weatherization help) none of the work will cost me anything out of pocket. It's all FREE!! I can't wait to see my electric bill shrink. :D
