When Jake/George looks into The Dunning's children's yard he sees the little girls bike overturned, on it's side. He can tell it is the little girls bike because of the training wheels. Bikes with training wheels never fall over. They just remain in the upright position. From my memories of training wheels, it was difficult to turn them over.
Just an observation. Anyone else notice this?
I am enjoying the book and have not finished it yet. It is fantastic.
One other thing I noticed regarding
the band at the dance in Jodie.
George can see the name of the band printed on the "snare drum".
Band names are usually on the Bass Drum.
There is not enough space on a snare between the hardware to put a visible sign that one could see from a distance.
PS I love this book.

I've seen our kids bikes (with trainer wheels) on their side... my boys can get a little rough with their gear. :biggrin2:

They put them on the snare drums a lost also :)

And my boys bikes were always on their sides.. they were just rough on them.

Good observations tho.

different time, but while working in the Heights, taking a break on the front porch...cue the song. if the world had a front porch! anyway, the neighbor house across the street there's a bunch of kids living there and from time to time they'd be out in force, bicycles, those things with tiny wheels front and back, handlebar on a rod, whatever they're called, and dirt bikes. these are motorized...or wheeled kids. all of it lying on its side. we're sittin there discussing the situation, myself and another...first a younger guy who helped hang the rock and then another who i think has some issues which is another thread altogether...best not talk about that.

must not have kick-stands i say. i think they did away with them. probably save a few bucks on production costs. dirt bikes the same way. either lying on its side or leaning up against something. which does nothing to answer your question but looks like the questions were already answered.

there's all these old jackets stuffed down in the cubby holes up in the attic. where'd my mackinaw go! settle down, toivo, you won't be needin it anymore. we've insulated. lot of work there.

Heck, in an alternative universe everything can happen (almost). Custom can change, traditions, habits and laws can be different. And if you timetravel to change something, and in a lesser degree if you just observe, you make a change to that time line (alternate universe). So small differences should almost be expected. I'm not saying that was Kings intention but things like that snaredrum vs bassdrum thingy (good observation though, i totally missed it) can easily be explained in that way. At least thats how i look at it.

I super love this book, my favorite part is when he's in Derry and talks to Richie and Beverly (because I foam at the mouth for any IT content. and always loved the chemistry between these two characters) but in general I love time travel and also that era in general. I could also relate to some of it on a personal level

However there are a few things that made me raise an eyebrow, like the thing about Al's nurse lmao. But I tend to notice small continuity issues in SK novels and kind of just accept them, haha. Just gotta look the other way sometimes

I also think Jake was a dumby in several parts of this story I was yelling at the book LOL

But over all this is in my top fave SK books
