I think that the director did a great job on a tight budget. The acting is gritty and real, the photography is lush and deep, and the whole movie has a nice continuity to it. This is a hard book to film, and I think the panning, fast-paced shots of Dee Wallace and...Tad (know the boy's face, can't remember his name..., did a great job)...are so well done. Would loved to have had the scenes of Brett and Charity visiting her sister included, their is so much back story here, but it is still a great film. Didn't need CGI, over indulged special affects, which are the bane of movies today!!
