  1. Clear your cache.
  2. Tell me your OS and browser by copying and pasting your user agent string into this thread or a PM. e.g., Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/74.0.3729.157 Safari/537.36
  3. Share a screenshot of the issue, either on this thread or via PM. (Windows, OSX, iOS, Android)

1. Done
2. Windows 7 x64 and Chrome Version 73.0.3683.103 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Cache is clean... I run Ccleaner and Chrome itself to clear it hourly.

I would not recommend updating to the latest version of Chrome on Windows 7, its buggy as hell.

Here's what I reported to Google..

I don't know if there's been another version since my report to Google but Google is ignoring what I reported despite having someone responding with the same exact issues. A lot of people don't even check Event Viewer, so they may not realize what the latest version is doing or Chrome could have updated again but for the time being, I'm avoiding updates until I know the issue is resolved.

If any of you have Windows 7, can you check the event viewer to see if you have any perfnet errors, they should show under Windows Logs > Applications.

I see they came out with a new version on the 21st and that may have the issues I had with the earlier version fixed but once you install the latest Chrome, its really, really difficult to roll back, so I'd appreciate it if someone could test it. The long blank areas don't bother me too much but if the new Chrome fixes it and doesn't have the bugs anymore, I'll just update.

Well I tried every work around I could think of with the version of Chrome that I have, no luck. I may just try Firefox out because I heard it is now better than Chrome and less resource hungry. I like Chrome because it syncs my bookmarks and I no longer have to back them up myself but I imagine Firefox may sync them as well. Or I can put up with the huge blank area on every post.. decisions.. decisions.

Edit: Hrmm, if I edit a post it gets rid of the huge blank area... that's a little odd.

FYI, after reading Jordan’s post of problems regarding Windows XP and upcoming problems with Windows 7 I decided to load Mozilla Firefox as an alternative internet browser to the Google Chrome I have been using, and the issue of spaces and pics/videos bleeding into other posts seems to have gone away with the SKMB.

Working from a chromebook-- I updated to the chrome 74 , upon Jordan's advice, and it fixed everything on the SKMB.

Chrome 73 is a known issue. The only fix is using another browser/version.

Once I upgraded my browser, all issues disappeared.

There's one issue, Mal is using IE 11 and IE 11 no longer is supported by MS since they're focusing on Edge, which doesn't work under anything below Windows 10. As for Chrome, the latest version released last week still has the perfnet errors and Google claims they can't produce the issue themselves despite the fact a few other users are reporting the same errors. Perfnet errors can cause Windows to crash so I still highly recommend not to upgrade Chrome just yet. There's a chance you won't have an issue since I think the latest Chrome conflicts with another program that only a few users use so other users may not have an issue.

On an older Chromebook, it updated automatically when I shut down. Thus far no issues-- I hope! Thanks for the info.

You won't have the issue with Chromebook because Perfnet is a Windows thing, so you should be fine. Apple users shouldn't have the issue either if they use Chrome instead of Safari but they're better off using Safari.
