Their is a lot of criticism on " the other side". I know the book hasten even been out for a week and people have a right to have their opinions; but I feel like people are not seeing the story or the depth of the story, and they're reading the book with the intention to evaluate and criticize Stephen.
We've really been very forward in asking people to share how they felt though, so I don't think it will be a problem. :)

(Personally, the story wasn't as dark or scary for me as I had anticipated, so perhaps it was the same for others--maybe that was disappointing for them? I wasn't disappointed, more relieved actually--I'm a bit of a wuss. :biggrin2: )

Have you testified, brothers and sisters?
I think I need a witness - can I get a witness? Amen
Praise the Lord and Hallelujah

Actually I did go out with a born again Christian back in the late 90s but it did not last - I was raised Catholic and his church was too bizarre for me.

When I was in high school, I dated a guy for a short time whose family belonged to a holy roller church. One day he suggested it might be fun if we attended Sunday services and I stupidly agreed. During the service, a woman stood up in the aisle next to me. She waved her arms in the air and fell to her knees yelling, "I feel the spirit! The spirit is in me!" The expression on her face was one of happy enlightenment and she seemed very sincere but she scared me a bit and all I could think was, Keep your spirit away from me. After the services, I asked boyfriend if she was just putting on an act and he said No, she believed. I no longer remember what boyfriend even looked like but the memory of that woman and her strong belief continues to haunt me. Until someone returns from the dead and explains it all, I'm not going to diss anyone's beliefs :)

I still have about a hundred pages to read before I can open spoilers but your post made old memories return :)

I still have not bought Revival! (What the heck is wrong with me!:umm:) - when Doctor Sleep and Mr. Mercedes came out I was almost the first in line to get them. I suppose I could wait until Christmas and ask Santa to bring me a copy.

You've got that right (about dissing other people's religion). I made that mistake with a Captain in the military who was my direct supervisor - duh! My PER (personal evaluation report) definitely suffered that year:cower::stupid:

I saw someone fall to her knees, at a wedding shower, of all things. And praised Jesus. I was like, Holy Crap!

Scared me. Here, have your present..... sorry, gotta go.

I am only 4 chapters in the book.
