I think they are variations of the same...and yes, Flagg in The Stand certainly
has a short memory at times, as he is bewildered again when he is zapped into the jungle and the natives bow down to the bewildered man whose memory beings to kick in at that moment.

I am very interested in the relation of The Stand's Randall Flagg with Eye of the Dragon's Flagg and The Dark Tower's 'dark man'. Are they the same person? They all mention Legion. Please enlighten me!

According to Wikipedia the answer to your first question is yes...

Randall Flagg

The Man in Black, and a character with numerous aliases, including: the Ageless Stranger, the Walking Dude, Walter O'Dim, Marten Broadcloak, Richard Faninn, Rudin Filaro, Legion, Covenant Man, and his given name, Walter Padick, son of Sam; he appears in many books of Stephen King, most notably in The Eyes of the Dragon and in The Stand, always as a nearly-demonic sorcerer. He is the Crimson King's chief agent.

I agree with Walt O'Di...I mean Oobleck about your other question.

One thing I don't get in the book and I'm reading the graphic novel at the moment is why Randall Flagg needs papers and a car from Kit Bradenton. I never could understand why seeing 99.5% of the population in America is dead, why does he need papers. And he could choose what car to take because no one is using theirs. Also, Flagg must have organised this in advance, so does that mean he had some prior knowledge of catastrophe?

I thought the same thing.

One thing I never understood and this is of course probably due to that King didn't have wide intentions at first.

Randall Flagg in The Stand seems to be more like a dude that comes from nowhere or well he's been walking the road and world for a long time. But he says he has no REAL memory sides vague recollections of his past of what he's done on Earth.

Also he just seems to develop supernatural powers on the spot.

Plus
At the end of The Stand he just seems to be picking up where he left off and all in a different part of the world

In Eyes of The Dragon/DT he's more of an eternal dark wizard/trickster who orchestrates the down fall of kingdoms and of course his service to the Crimson King (he's working that angle to). He is also a bit more trollish I noticed.

He's a troll/trickster in The Stand to but he's more so in DT I found.

If it wasn't for the fact that Walter/The Man in Black makes some direct references to The Stand such as when he mentions The Tick Tock Man is similar to the Trashcan man. I'd almost peg them as twinners of some kind as opposed to the same being.

I know they are the same though due to WORD OF KING but still anybody got any thoughts on this?

Or did I forget something?

What I like about The Stand graphic novel is that it tells you he's this guy that's been 'around', not always the same appearance because he was a black guy who told another black guy to shoot a cop. And he was at school with Charles Starkweather. But he gets magical powers in bad times.

This makes me think of the movie "The Exorcist" when the older priest tells the younger one that it is one and the same demon they are dealing with
