Had you posted one with more outerwear, it wouldn't have been a problem.

@Ms. (Miss) Mod - Okay, okay, you're one of the moderators I get it, :encouragement: BUT the image capture of gorgeous actress Rebecca DeMornay is from Stephen King's "The Shining miniseries." *sigh* :hammer: Most members here have watched (SEEN) the movie and read the book. Read on ...

Stanley Kubrick's Lloyd the bartender, Jack and Grady have a comment. Lloyd says: "women ... can't live with them ... can't live without them." Jack with a BIG PR grin replies: "words of wisdom Lloyd ... words ... of ... wisdom." :applause:

Then Grady somberly speaks to Jack Torrance in the restroom: "my two girls tried to burn down the Overlook with a pack of matches ... so ... I ...
C O R R E C T E D them." You too ... must correct ... "Ms Moderator."

BTW, belive it or not I have re-uploaded a image of Rebecca DeMornay approved and authorized fully by Stewart Ullman, that "officious little pr***." Jack Torrance approves too. Furthermore, if there is an issue with this new updated picture of gorgeous (Wendy) Rebecca DeMornay, Grady has instructed me to correct "Ms (MIss) Moderator" in the most harsh way. *KIDDING*

That was them, this is us. Stewart Ullman may make the rules at The Overlook but his authority doesn't extend beyond the hotel's grounds. ;)

We also aren't posting pictures of scantily clad men anymore. Obviously there are other pictures that can be posted instead as you've done above and Ms. DeMornay is just as gorgeous in that one. :)

I always thought De Mornay was exceptionally beautiful, that's why it was a bit of a surprise to see her as Wendy. I always imagine the people in his books to look real ordinary.
Recently they put a musical version of Beauty and the Beast on Netflix, starring her and John Savage, from 1987. I assume this was purely made for children, because it's the cheesiest, cheapest version I have seen. It consists of De Mornay captured in the Beast's palace, endlessly dreaming at night of a beautiful prince (as well as the Beast played by Savage) and not being able to see the clear truth that the Beast and the prince are one and the same. At dinner they have almost the exact conversation over and over of the Beast asking to marry her and she refusing. And they endlessly pass a rose back and forth. At least it was a good laugh, but such a huge difference from the Disney/Emma Watson version.

@Ms Moderator - been (a w a y) but now I'm back! :) Popcorn? LOL Well glad you kept Rebecca DeMornay's alternate picture up. The one posted of dreamy "Wendy" in the elevator. Still searching/seeking Stephen King's miniseries streaming version to watch in HDTV this Fall. I wish his fans worldwide can pull together and pitch in lots of $$$ so he can BUY back the rights to The Shining miniseries. Which he so rightly deserves IMO. :typing::cool::hammer::encouragement:

I actually just watched it again after not seeing it for years. I am going to say it -- I think Steven Weber did a better job of bringing alive the Jack Torrance from the book. You believe he goes from zero to 60 gradually, not in 6.2 seconds like Nicholson did. Yes, I do like him and the Kubrick film just fine, say thankya. But it's not the book except for some major points like setting, names and so forth. Kubrick made a damn fine film; scary and beautiful. But the mini-series sticks to the book. I also liked DeMornay better as Wendy. But I like the Danny from the Kubrick film better. Yeah, he's a bit listless but I can't stand the other Danny's nasal voice. I keep wanting to make him blow his nose. My ideal Danny would be the miniseries kid with the movie kid's voice. Just my issue, YMMV.

I watched both versions last year and posted reviews in the respective threads of this forum. I really want to watch the mini-series more often, but I cannot stand the kid they chose to play Danny. Mick Garris dropped the ball with the casting here, I'm afraid.

It's too bad the Kubrick film never came out here on blu-ray/dvd in it's complete cut of 2 and a half hours. After the film premiered and didn't do well Kubrick cut out more and more scenes, and the European version is around two hours. That's the only version that I know and is out here. I did see the deleted scenes seperately but that doesn't show where they were supposed to be in the film.
Funnily you don't notice at all in the European cut that something's missing. I suppose the structure of the film is such anyway that a lot of scenes kind of play on their own. For example there are lots of solo scenes with Nicholson, where you don't see the other actors. I suppose that's why if you take out scenes it isn't so noticable.

UPDATE - HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone! To those who wish to view King's The Shining mini series on the BIG screen as in HDTV all you need to do is get a Blue Ray player that will play all DVDs in 1080. Problem solved ... I only used DVD player THAT IS WHY i NEVER HAD A FULL SCREEN LIVE & LEARN. LOL. King's "The Shining" looks awesome in high resolution. I only wish that the Blue rays WERE AVAILABLE - they never sold well. :hammer: :typing:

AGREE - it is sad some parts were cut. If Stanley Kubrick was here today he would be amazed regarding the world wide fan base of his version of The Shining !!!
