You can see the bind King is in on publishing rage. I spent my youth in a lot of mental hospital day programs, and Charlie Deckard (sp?) was the ****. One kid even said he wanted to change his name to Charlie Deckard when he reached 18

Wow - that is pretty disturbing to hear Joshua - I hope that pulling the book out of publication helps. I know Sai King was concerned that if his book contributed (even a tiny bit) to the problem, that he felt it was better to stop publishing it.

I read the book so many years ago, I must admit that except for Thinner, I don't remember much from the Bachman books. I can say, though, that no book has ever made me plan or do something illegal.
It is a shame that books are used as an excuse to commit crimes, but as it has shown to be so, I am glad that Mr. King decided to pull this book.
