I loved the locals though. I think their dialogue, plus the dog "trumpeting" is what makes this story balanced.

Yep-as always, the balance between the real and surreal is perfect!
The aftermath was also disturbing. They had to clean up the town. Not fun, or easy!

Yes-I was just going to post that-I looked it up. I posted that thought because of the mention of the house's unnecessary additions and it reminded me of that other story. Sorry for the confusion.

It's amazing how people can desensitize themselves. They could all accept this horror show of a reality because it only happened once every seven years-and they could remain prosperous.
He definitely leaves us lots of connections to find. It's a treasure!

I find everytime I re read that I missed something the first time.
I wasn't surprised when it started raining toads. But I wasn't expecting carnivorous toads! That was a surprise.
Absolutely! I re-read alot and I always find something new.
I can't imagion what it would be like to see dozens of toads hopping down the stairway.
