That was a great story!! What a whack-a-doodle! I'm glad you passed on her sachets! So today, when I changed my profile Pic on Facebook, Mary commented "your eyes are red".....
to which I replied that I'd just bought a new 6 inch set of shears, and she should thank her lucky stars that she doesn't have a flat head......
It was that little interchange that made me wonder if I'd ever told the story here.
I have to sign off very soon - today is the last day of the Turning Pages course. Just called them to let them know I'll be a bit late showing up today as I have to go pick up my son at work.
I'm worried he'll end up hanging out with this one particular girl who I don't trust. She gets him to buy smokes for her Mom (that kind of thing) plus she does drugs and drinks so not someone I really trust (even though she is only 18!).
I always liked women with sachets??That was a great story!! What a whack-a-doodle! I'm glad you passed on her sachets!
Can't really tell with the jet black weird hairdo and various accessories she adds for effect. But once I swore I saw antennas.
We understand she has issues, but it doesn't take away from the fact that she makes our jobs much more difficult. And we are never anything but professional and kind to her... and always willing to help meet her perceived needs without taking advantage of her.these are really funny stories, but part of me fells bad for the people who are in them. they are mentally ill, with issues. you should never laugh at some one who is upset or about to loose it. i have been upset and people laugh at me and that is when i loose it. but i have also been on the receiving end. one of my co-workers who has major issues one day wanted to talk about every one coming after him and i had to change the subject to cake flavors. i still kind of laugh at it. poor dude was not taking his medication..
Is it okay to laugh if you’re a bit whack-a-doodle yourself? No, I wouldn’t laugh in their face. This is Texas and ya never know who’s carrying a concealed weapon. When all else fails, I bend over and speak to them with my rear. Ace Ventura style. What a gift Jim Carrey has given us! Haven’t been shot once... yet.these are really funny stories, but part of me fells bad for the people who are in them. they are mentally ill, with issues. you should never laugh at some one who is upset or about to loose it. i have been upset and people laugh at me and that is when i loose it. but i have also been on the receiving end. one of my co-workers who has major issues one day wanted to talk about every one coming after him and i had to change the subject to cake flavors. i still kind of laugh at it. poor dude was not taking his medication..
I was sharing an anecdote one of my life experiences that occurred 23 years ago. Yes, my friend and I found humor in it after it happened, and we still find humor in it today. Since none of us are psychiatrists, we can't really say with any certainty that Ms Chew was mentally ill. She did certainly scare the bejeezus out of our new coworker, though.....not to mention causing a horrid scene in the mall for all to see. My friend thinks that it was my refusal to purchase the car freshener sachets that made her angry, and she decided to take it out on all of us.these are really funny stories, but part of me fells bad for the people who are in them. they are mentally ill, with issues. you should never laugh at some one who is upset or about to loose it. i have been upset and people laugh at me and that is when i loose it. but i have also been on the receiving end. one of my co-workers who has major issues one day wanted to talk about every one coming after him and i had to change the subject to cake flavors. i still kind of laugh at it. poor dude was not taking his medication..
This is what is happening in the world today. You make a joke about some very sensitive issue, and you are this horrible person. NO. You aren't. You CAN make jokes about very horrible subjects without finding the real thing humorous at all. sometimes black humor is a coping skill and who has the right to tell anyone how they should cope with horrible subject matter?I was sharing an anecdote one of my life experiences that occurred 23 years ago. Just so you know, I find humor in a lot of places, and sometimes it is a little twisted, but I tend to laugh at the experience, not the person.....unless it's myself or my friends. We laugh at each other all the time. We try not to take the little stuff too seriously.
Life is to be enjoyed, and I enjoy the laughter.

While reading along, at first I thought it might be a ploy to run away and skip out on paying for her haircut, but I guess not.I was sharing an anecdote one of my life experiences that occurred 23 years ago. She continued to come to the salon for years after that, but never sat in my chair again...... flaming red eyes will do that to a person, I guessWhile reading along, at first I thought it might be a ploy to run away and skip out on paying for her haircut, but I guess not.
Rather than delete part of the post I quote I wanted to include your entire sentiment. This is what is happening in the world today. I remember watching those guys on Saturday Night Live (with my aunt and uncle on that little tv that you had to hit with a shoe) when I was a kid. I loved them.....and Dan Aykroyd, Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Gilda Radner, and John Belushi......nothing or no one was off limits to them. They meant no harm, they enjoyed life and the humor of living.Rather than delete part of the post I quote I wanted to include your entire sentiment.
I agree completely with everything above.
I know I have a sick sense of humor (quick check of my past posts and you will see). I also was weaned on George Carlin (kinda before my time but funny), Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy and Robin Williams.
Most of what was considered funny for eons has now become "politically incorrect". Every story or joke that involves someone not considered to meet the "norm" offends someone. But these same people are what make humanity interesting.
If we can't laugh at ourselves as well as others then we become boring. Boring is not fun.
Take it from a man whose oldest son refers to him as Lazarus occasionally (apple from tree thing is true), life is too short and ruthless to always be "politically correct".
I saw most of them live before SNL. They were hitting the circuit and honing their craft... preparing for a new upcoming TV show... Saturday Night Live. Belushi was hilarious. They went by the name 'National Lampoon Review' (if memory serves me right) at the time. The group definitely toned their act down for TV.I remember watching those guys on Saturday Night Live (with my aunt and uncle on that little tv that you had to hit with a shoe) when I was a kid. Not even close. It’s a grainy, moist texture and ultra-porky mushy gray meat concoction. Is that like Snapple?
