Today is a relaxed day for us - Andy is still sleeping (as usual) - he's a night owl; Josh and I go see the podiatrist at 12:30 p.m. His big toe is completely healed now so she will more than likely schedule him for surgery on the other foot now.

That's what they originally said about the impossible burger... and see what happened? :)

Impossible burger? I haven't tried one of those yet but I had a plant based sausage sandwich from Tim Hortons - it was so bad I had to give it to the seagulls

I haven't tried the impossible burger at Burger King yet but my SIL said it tasted good. I bought Beyond Meat burgers at the grocery store this week and cooked them on the grill. I thought they were tasty and would buy them again.

The best we've had so far was a burger patty that was 50/50 - half meat and half plant based protein. Josh and Andy grilled a couple of those and said they were very good.

Maybe it's one of those things where you have to gradually transition into it. I remember I used to eat a mushroom burger that was good but it always gave me

I understand to get the taste of meat out of grass clippings, the secret is coconut oil. Now the same people who tried banning the use of coconut oil from movie theater popcorn (which is what gives it that unique taste) now endorses meat tasting grass clippings. I’m so confused. :)

You should slather some of that coconut oil on your skin - it's very lubricating!
(I mean moisturizing) :facepalm_smiley:

Grass clippings?! What ingredient labeling have you been reading?

Interesting article.

Not a big meat eater. Think I'll stick with an occasional red meat meal rather than adding more processed foods.

I figure we should eat a lot of meat. Isn’t that why we have incisors? Otherwise, wouldn't we have cow teeth? :)

LOL.

I think nowadays you have to go to a restaurant supply house to get coconut oil for cooking. Something about the saturated fat level being equivalent to a FlakeNior on the scale of one to rugby mom. :)
You don't do much grocery shopping, do you? You can buy coconut oil at pretty much any grocery store. Although it's true that there is a lot of saturated fat in it, it actually boosts HDL levels which outweighs the "bad" effects usually found with saturated fat.

I actually do most of the grocery shopping. I have yet to see coconut oil on the shelves here... but I'll have to look again. Coconut oil raises both the good and bad cholesterol levels. You’d be better off using olive oil or canola oil (look at me talking all doctor-like). Anyway if I’d used coconut oil it would raise the good, the bad, and the ugly levels. :)

I do use olive oil for most of my cooking but don't have a problem adding coconut oil when the recipe calls for it. I'm one of those who often has a cholesterol count above 200 but my "good" numbers are so high that I've always been told not to worry about it.

Just got back from the grocery store where I picked up a roast beef hoagie for lunch. I took a stroll through the cooking oil aisle. They had a bunch of different types of cooking oils, but no coconut oil. I think Ms Mod is pulling our legs. :)

Is extra virgin olive oil made from really ugly olives?

I bought mine at SAM's Club but they also have it at my local Hannaford and I found it at Aldi's when I was in MA. No idea why your store has either decided to not stock it or hid it in another section of the grocery store.
