We have a lady clerking for us right now. I think she's 19....she keeps referring to "back in the day" while telling life stories. I asked her what year she was referring to the other day and she said "around 2008, ya know a long time ago". No, not really, I don't..lol 2008 seems like about 15 minutes ago....

Our daughter is 20 and I can totally relate.
She recently started a story with "back when I was in high school..." and I was like "Sweetie, you graduated 18 months ago." :a11:

That's a lesson I don't think can be taught that time compresses when you get older, or maybe as you get older you're just so damn busy. No days off when you become a parent, months go by like a day. I can remember, vaguely, being bored a lot when I was a teenager. Seems very nostalgic now the concept of being bored or not having 18 million things to get done on a daily basis...

You hit the nail on the head with that one.
If I ever complained to my parents that I was bored, they would find something for me to do...that something would be an unpleasant chore.

Now, what kids call "bored", I call "relaxed".

Yep. It's good to be a kid. You have no clue, or concept for the most part, of what's ahead of you and that's probably for the best. Best to stay young and enjoy it because you're an adult a helluva lot longer than you're a kid and the responsibilities just keep on piling up.

Eagle Cam - Live Feed

Yes, it's the eagle nest they've been talking about on the news.

If you go right now, mom and dad are feeding baby.

Thanks! I used to love my Decorah Eagle Cam. Decorah Eagles, Ustream.TV: From a cold and snowy Iowa, we wish you all the joyous warmth of the season, and hope for a productive spring ahead for our wi...
I don't know what they are up to this year. But my goodness. The drama. The true heartbreak. Funny how you can get used to seeing live things flown into the nest and eaten.

They have a little chat thing on the side too.

Posted this before. Poor mom hanging in with them in a sudden rainstorm. So loyal. I was watching this live. Saw them since before they hatched. heck, we all heard them mating. Off camera.

Was talking movies with a younger co-worker and he didn't believe when I told him that Mark & Donnie Wahlberg were originally in the music business. Showed him videos on YouTube and by the look on his face you could swear I conjured up a portal to another dimension.

Stupid kids. Heh heh heh

The best is yet to come-- back in 2007 or so watched from hatching till flight of Sidney and Victoria. When they are ready to fly-- you will hold your breath.

No kiddin. And when they think they are. All that hopping and flapping. Catching air.

And when they first perch out to join mom and dad. When D1 went.. cried. He spent time with mom on branch. Swear they had a talk. There was chattering. Off he went.
Raptor Research Project tracked him. Off to way way north of Canada.

Once you see them having a tug o war over a squirrel tail, after they ate it, they are getting big. :O_O: And it does not bother you anymore, because you have seen a deer leg and a piglet? Yes. It came into the nest.

It became what was.
Lot's of fishes.. Still floppin.

Never thought I could watch that. Till.. you see mom and dad pick off this tiny tiny pieces and gently feed the babies. So gentle.

Turning the page on a new year always brings out the prognosticator in each of us. What will the music sound like? Will fashion make '80s trends new again? How robust will the stock market be?
What am I thinking about? Wall colors, lol. I started with the memory of a pillowcase my grandparents had that was circa 1960s. It was gold and aqua and I wanted to replicate that nostalgic feeling in my bedroom. The yellow could be considered a curry-honey color, too. I am considering a pea green to balance the two colors.

I have mustard-color throw pillows. They are old, but I've really been into that color again lately - especially with charcoal grey.

If it were me, I'd go with the Williamsburg blue with a little of the curry-honey.
