I wouldn't get a used one. I do a LOT of wash, I want something that will last.

The stacking set we have now (washer is broken; dryer works, but not very well) is full size...we bought it about 9-10 years ago. The new ones we've seen in stores are all too deep to fit in the utility closet (and close the door...it faces our dining room, so I really need the door to be able to close).
We will most likely have to special order a set. Gotta love paying extra for a smaller appliance (happened to us with our stove: it was a few inches narrower than standard, but we ended up literally paying twice as much).
Do you have a local appliance repairman? I bought my last washer from a man who refurbishes and repairs older appliances.......it worked for 14 years, and saved me a lot of money. That could be an option.

I spent most of my Christmas cash & gift cards on gym clothes/sneakers.
I gained 10 lbs. since October :/ and since I'm rather short, the weight shows more.
I'm by no means overweight, but I've been the same size since I lost the baby weight after my son was born (2003) and my clothes are rather tight now.
Another reason I dislike cold weather is I become so much less active and just feel sluggish.
Going to go check out my local Weight Watchers meeting today :a11::laugh:
(I know exactly what you mean!)

GNTLGNT's "Soupy Sales" reference (on another thread) reminded me of feeling old.
We were with friends, talking about dogs and someone asked what a bull terrier looked like. I said "you know, like Spuds Makenzie" and one woman says "Who??"
She's like a decade younger than I am, but I didn't realize it. I just said "nevermind" :a11:

There is a scene in The Tommyknockers where
Gard is nearly scalded by the hot water in Bobbi's house and it leads to him discovering Bobbi's new power source for her water heater.
I wondered if anybody keeps their water heater at a high level. I have been in some homes where the hot water steams up the bathroom mirror in seconds. In our home a person could leave their hand under a hot faucet and they wouldn't get burned. Any preferences?

...even at 88, my pops still buys shelled corn in 50 pound bags and totes it out to our orchard and dumps it into a feeding bin for the deer on his property....
We used to do this at my mom's old house before she had to move. We had a trough for them right outside the back fence. There weren't any houses behind her place. Nothing but a huge field and lots of trees where they would take shelter.

I did a paper on Hawking for college. I had read A Brief History of Time and I understood it, but I had to read it very slowly and sometimes re-read certain concepts to get it. I couldn't explain a thing to you now about it, but at the time, I got it.

He really is a very remarkable man.
