I have been there. I don't remember seeing this particular garden but considering the odor it emits, think I'm just as happy not to be there when it blooms. :smile2:
Yeah, it doesn't sound very nice. But given it only blooms once every 10 years and it only lasts a few hours, I'm going to try to pop in every once in a while and see if I catch it.

Someday, my grand kids will ask, "granny, where were you when Rosie the corpse flower bloomed?"

I should check with my cousin as I'm not sure if she's relocated to Scottsdale from Tucson yet. She volunteered at the Gardens.

Well hell, that IS the corpse flower already bloomed. Bloomed? that's not a word, is it?
Bloomin' 'Ell - we missed it

Bloomed is a word. My cousin has moved but texted that she'd seen one in Charlotte, NC when she was living there and thought it smelled like rotting flesh.

I don't think I've smelled rotting flesh, so not sure what that smells like.

Eww - I have - we had fish washed up on the shore when we lived by the lake - that putrefaction smell is one you don't forget.

Would be also similar to meat gone bad or the rotting smell of a tooth with a bad cavity.

Does a dead body smell like a freezer that has quit working and is full of meat?

Corpse rotting smells worse than fish, it's kind of a indescribable odor.. wouldn't the correct term be "in bloom"?
I love it, only on the skmb will you find about a dozen posts about the the odor of rotten corpses..
