I'm really disappointed. You took a perverted story, and then created a love story, and then you self-destructed it. The person who needs Lexapro is you, Stephen King. I was
so thoroughly enjoying the novel, up until
the point when the "damsel in distress" is killed
. Do you really think that the ensuing investigation of Hodges is intelligently reasonable under the circumstances? It is so far fetched, and its an insult to my intelligence. To actually think you won an award for this novel - is mind boggling. I will not purchase the sequels to this novel, unless you offer them free to me.

To each their own.
I understand that libraries offer books for free.

Well alrighty then. Welcome?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I just finished Mr. Mercedes. The Brady character is a Bad Guy through and through. I love that Mr. King kept Brady a lone wolf terrorist, because that's one of the scariest types of people out there. They plan their crime all themselves and there's no one to warn the rest of the town or city, no one to at least speak with the Bad Guy and try to talk him (or her) out of his tree.

Good read. I enjoyed it.

Glad i am not the only one who loves Mr. Mercedes, Brady keeps the novel alive and go, he was simply an amazing and the same time, terrifying character, a type of terrifying character that will bring you in Traumatic experiences. (bold that because that was so true)

(and simply, i know i'm a sick minded person, but if Brady was real, i want to marry him lol)

What if Sai King throws in a brand-spanking-new set of Ginsu II (TM) knives?

I loved this book but I am enjoying how many sides there are to Stephen King. People used to say he was a 'horror writer' but he's not. He's a fantastic author and I think it's so great that he's doing so many different genres of books.

It's amazing how people can have such diametrically opposed views on books. I absolutely loved Mr. Mercedes. That's the magic of books (for me anyway). We live in reality--can't we read about situations that might not exist in our reality?

Also, I have to mention that there are so many people with unique situations and unique minds. I can absolutely seeing a retired cop going after a mass murderer in this way. And the way King wrote the book, Hodges did try calling the police when things got very serious. Also, our real reality does include nutjobs who take guns (or cars) into crowds--sadly, almost every day.
But I appreciate your opinion even though I don't agree at all. Have a good one. Oh and welcome.
