Very interesting thanks Maddie.

The driver/passenger did not actually get out of the car in the story as far as I remember. But that was a good shot!

You know, I actually DID see a film once about 15 x years ago where a car/passengers ended up quasi-groundhog-day in amongst the country. I am fairly sure it was an Australian film? I seem to remember it being quite excellent and would love to watch it again!

Ta,

Paul

thank you Paul, I searched and found the title of that story to be 'Midnight Never Ends' , much older by its air date, but I couldn't find the name of the writer of the story, though those did get out of the car, just repeatpeatrepeatedly. Hmmnn it seems like Ive seen one like the one you just mentioned too, but is it real , or dejavu? The mind wonders. :chuncky:

Ta Maddie,

MIDNITE NEVER ENDS is the name of the book which contains for stories. But having read the synopsis of each, I don't think they match? Unless I am wrong?

Do you know the name of that Aussie driving film? It was very atmospheric!

to Paul, so, there is a book called Midnite Never Ends as well? I didn't see that. I only saw a Night Gallery episode with that same title and this is the synopsis for it, and it too is different than the one you are searching for...

Storyline
When Ruth picks up a Marine on his way back to camp, he seems to think he has lived through the experience before -- he even can predict what she will say and do next. When they stop at a roadside café for coffee, the Marine becomes more and more certain that he, Ruth, and others are re-living the same things over and over, "until they get it right."

I'm not sure about that Aussie film, I cant remember the name of it, but I do remember that it was very atmospheric! I will check around for it .

I remember this. I loved Night Gallery. It's available on Hulu, BTW.

Hi Maddie,

Yes, that seems to be the title of the book I am afraid!

Gerald suggests the movie may be a French one ("Dead End" - 2003).

Have you ever seen a film where two men are in a field (I think they are arguing) and then they have a fight, and one of them gets chopped up by a combine-harvester?! I think it was in the 1980's?

And also, (I think it was in the late 1990's or very early 2000's - because I rented it from Blockbusters), a film about a Ghost Ship? It was quite brilliant and highly tense! I don't even think anyone even died in the movie but the suspense was riveting!

hi Paul,

I too when checking for that movie, kept finding 'Dead End' result as well which was was occurring on a Christmas Eve. I'm not familiar with the scenario about the 2 guys in the field in my mind at the moment, but about a Ghost Ship, I'm pretty sure I do, very atmospheric too, I'm not sure if its the same one though, it did have some deadly situations at hand, but see if this is it .... Watch Movie Ghost Ship (2002) Full

There were two versions of Ghost Ship, one was filmed in the early eighties and I remember my dad taking us to either Gulf Shores or Dauphin Island, I don't remember which, where the ship they used as an external location was out in the water a ways .. the new version had a particularly gruesome scene involving a ballroom dance on the deck of the ship ....

Hello Maddie,

Thank you very much for digging!

This may or may not be the film about the Ghost Ship. I do think I have seen the one you kindly linked as I just watch the first couple of mins and I seem to remember that the crew suddenly disappear!

I think there is also a kiddies film called Ghost Ship that came out about 10 x years ago (obviously I am not interested in that one!)?

Cheers,

I thought there was two films of the same title as I mentioned above.

btw - do you know that a 'diminished 9th' is an oxymoron of sorts because, enharmonically speaking, it produces an 'octave' interval! Unless, of course, you mean the chord contains a '9th' degree, in which case the spelling of the symbol would be different: 'Eb dim (add 9)'.

Paul
