I want more!!!! First i can say it is entertaining it is just that i see the makings of a really good werewolfnovel here and the promise isn't fulfilled. A little more buildup, a little more flesh on the different characters and it could have been a great 4-500 pages or so novel. It is not that i don't enjoy it, i do. It is more that I woulkd like a really great werewolfnovel from King. He has given his great variations of haunted hauses, vampires, Frankenstein and so on so it would be nice with his special twist of the Werewolftale. (i don't count the teenage werewolf appearance in IT) This is thoughts that floats through my brain just after i finished it. And i do like the drawings by the way.

My understanding is this project was originally intended to only be a calendar illustrated by Bernie Wrightson but Steve expanded it into the book format.

I knew. It is just that i see margins for making it even better. Now it is a marvelous little horrific fairytale kind of thing and i love it. It is just that i love werewolf novels and i personally don't know of many good ones. Read Whitley striebers (the werewolves?, i read in swedish so are not sure about title) about a family of werewolves on the outskirts of a city a long time ago. These new sweet werewolves ala Twilight or whatever are not for me. Maybe i take Giants hint and read the Talisman. Do anyone know of Great werewolf novels? Novels, not Short stories.

Horror isn't a genre I gravitate toward so don't have any recommendations to offer. I do love The Talisman, though. Wolf is a wonderful character and I think you'd enjoy the book even though werewolves aren't central to the overall plot--just one element within it.

Thats part of my big problem in life. I gravitate towards almost all genres, except sweet romance. There's never enough time.

I have to agree I don't do romance novels myself. On the subject of expanding Cycle of the Werewolf I have to disagree, however. While we all like big King novels, he once said the story ends where it ends. Perhaps if it had been longer it would have lost some of the impact that made you enjoy it so much.

Its possible. But i would have liked to know more about the sister and her relationship with the crippled brother. And Uncle Al, an the Police chief (poor man), see what i mean? It is not that i demand length. A novella suits me fine but when i read for example The Body or Shawshank i feel that that is really the end. Here i felt that i wanted to know more. It is not the ending thats lacking, it is some parts in the middle. In my opinion of course.

Thats a fair enough observation. I have to say there have been one or two short stories where I wanted abit more.

I liked that it was a shorty. Its format was great i loved the way it went through each month, i just read it in an afternoon which you can't say for many King books.

Huge Wrightson fan, his attention to detail is great!! I have an original signed Wrightson hanging in my office right now. He does a lot of great graphic novel and comic book covers. I met him years ago in Atlanta @ Dragon Con, nice guy. Wish I would of picked up more than just the one piece.

Strieber's book is called The Wolfen here in the States. It was his first novel. Robert McCammon (I know you just started reading him, Kurben) has a great one called The Wolf's Hour.
