I didn't even know this film existed until Starz started showing it this month. It's a bit goofy but where did it even come from? I don't recall King ever writing a sequel and I don't see a sub forum for it on this site. So I'm going to assume the studio just went ahead with a sequel even though there wasn't a sequel novel wise?

Anywho, its goofy but it was also a bit amusing how the vampires just took over the town and how the kid vampires are treated.

Makes me wonder if New Line would just do an IT sequel down the road even though there isn't a second novel. I mean if they were willing to do so with Salem's Lot, I wouldn't put it past them to do it with IT.

I had it on VHS but never watched it, I picked it up because I liked a couple of director Larry Cohen's earlier movies, Q The Winged Serpent and The Stuff. As far as I know S.K. had nothing to do with the project at all. Whoever holds the sequel and remake rights controls what gets made (maybe Mrs. Mod can clarify that point?) so I guess Warner Bros. decided to cash in on the success of the Tobe Hooper mini series. The results I believe are pretty poor.
