I got a story that may or may not make u feel a little better!

The last house my mom lived in Was just down the road. I like to refer to the properties as "the compound" not because there's anything negative about it... I'll try to explain so u can picture it. This land was owned by a family called the chambers. They were farmers so there are 5 houses all spread out on a good chunk of land. The lady who owns them now is awesome and in fact my brother and I play music in a band with her and her daughter when we have time. She lives in one house her daughter another my bfs dad another...to make it short everyone knows everyone. Hence "the compound "

My brother and I used to be stoners but we're no longer smoking when she lived there. I had not yet moved out of her house at that time I was like 19 and my brother had temp.moved back in after a break up. One day my mom sits us down and says "I don't care if you are adults u will not smoke weed in or around my house whichever of u thinks I don't notice because you're waiting to do it at night are sadly mistaken u know I can't stand that smell and it will not be tolerated " I looked at my brother like U IDIOT but was a little thrown off to see he was looking at me the same way. So when she left we talked about it and my brother we tell other everything so when we figured out neither of us were having late night stoner fits we came to the only reasonable conclusion two falsely accused siblings can " mom's gone crazy." that night my mom comes storming out of her room and into my brother's room where we were both jamming and working on a song "DA*# IT WHERE IS IT I WARNED U GUYS!!!" After us all arguing and talking at once I say "Mom if we were smoking pot our eyes would be red ur fridge would be raided this room would be be Smokey AND IT WOULD SMELL LIKE A SKUNK IN HERE! None of those things are happening for crying out loud!" she smells the air says " what the Hell?" goes back to her room a few minutes later " you guys come here." my brother and I look at each other like great what now. We head to her room which is at the other end of the house 3/4ths of the way there I smell something when we reach her doorway it was nasty and this wasn't no skunk weed it was skunk.

To get to the point some skunks decided to move in under the house under my mom's room. There seemed to be more in and out activity at night. They sprayed our dogs a few times and would spray the front porch a lot I had always thought skunks only stink when they spray not true get enough of those suckers livin under ur house and then have babies under ur house that's a kind of stink for the record books. Eventually we were able to get rid of them with moth balls but it took quite some time. SO needless to say I have quite a few terrific skunk stories. But I need a break for a little bit before I tell any cuz typing this one handed with one of those pen things on a smart phone felt like it took ages lmao!
#1 - cannot believe you typed all this with one hand! (meaning - I believe it, but that is amazing)
#2 - hope you are recuperating well :tickled_pink::watermelon:, and
#3 - skunks are mainly nocturnal (so that would be why there was more 'action' at night).

You have to wonder about that original poster (the newbie from post # 1) - is he/she following all this?

:encouragement::a28: (only smiley I could find who was smoking).

This cracked me up, Ash. You are a great storyteller.
I heard the damn scratching under the house again last night, but no new odors yet. The landlord put out some poisoned bread under the house?
I think there are babies though. Tell me about the moth balls. Did you just spread them everywhere?

Poisoned bread? Yikes - my Dad used to do this for rats - the people a few doors down had horses and we think somehow rats had gotten in to our crawl space when we lived in a rural area.

He would spread rat poison (which was mainly warfarin) on bread with peanut butter then leave it down there for the rats. It causes severe internal bleeding at high enough doses, and would cause them to die through hemorrhaging) ew

You should tell the el cheapo landlord to cough up enough money for a professional exterminator! (but I guess those guys are expensive).

At this stinky point, I don't care if the poison makes the mother skunk commit suicide in front of her children, or if she hemorrhages all over herself, or what. (I know; that sounds awful, and I love animals, but I've had it up to the stratosphere with this stench.)
My landlord said he would hire a guy to get the skunk(s) out if the poison didn't work, so no worries there.

In my opinion weed smells like skunk. There was a time when my brother ....let's say, supplied the the stuff for a large quantity if people. So we could smoke all we want whenever we wanted. A lot of varieties from Jack Hair to Blueberry and although eventually I could actually smell differences in weed and went from hating the smell to being able to tolerate it (like the taste of beer) whenever I would go without smoking for a while it would go right back to smelling like skunk to me lol.

Well the thing was an exterminator may have killed the ones under the house BUT more would have came. I discovered on a late night walk the skunks have some sorry of den under the rail track bridge right by these properties I was walking and saw four skunks run across the street towards me I froze in panic but they ran right In front of me an past me and jumped the rail off the bridge I looked over where they jumped believing I just witnessed a mass suicide. But instead of seeing little skunk bodies way down on the train track I saw the end of a tail disappearing into the bridge. So there I a support been right where the ground ends and the bridge starts. There is literally cement for the support beam and maybe six to 8 inches of dirt then a 50 ft drop to your death. They had dug small hole there. There's no telling how big it is on the inside. But they aren't going anywhere. The moth balls worked just fine. I don't think it killed them because there were no dead skunks being found n the properties and none under the house.. Not that I would have cared if they did die because they are like any other wild animal. Capable of having diseases and rabies and although there main line of defense is spraying they're more then capable of biting and clawing and infecting your pets. And I would kill for my dogs. I'd rather not cuz I'm an animal lover but I love my dogs more than most people meaning more than wild skunks therefore dem biiiiotches had tu go y'all:beaten::lol2::waaaht: RABIES FACE:wack:

Yes throw theme under the house wait a day or two then put them around the outside close to the house. It took us a few fails to figure this out but if u put them under the house and right outside the house its almost like they can't figure out leaving gets them away from the moth balls. They don't eat them. I was told they don't like the smell whatever it is they worked. and like I said in my last post we didnt find any dead skunks on the properties or under the house.
