How is the book going for people? How is the electricity angle playing?

When I started reading Revival, I thought maybe the secret electricity might be used in a way similar to Tina Belcher's science experiment duplicating Edison's elephant electrocution (which I find horrifying). I was very happy no elephants were harmed in Revival lol.

Now that we're starting to learn more about "Revival" through the reviews, I have to say I am excited about the aspect of electricity. I have a feeling King is going to use the scientific principles of the subject in a very entertaining fashion, and that we will probably learn a lot from the book about electrons.

Then again, I could be wrong. But I do hope we get some expository, almost magazine-like articles on electricity. Sometimes doing that sort of thing lends an eerie atmosphere to a horror tale.

I was also hoping for a somewhat scientific explanation of the "secret electricity" and also why the rings and the headband conducted electricity differently. I've had a couple horrifying experiences with electricity. The first one occurred one day when I was cleaning wallboard crumbs out of an electrical socket with a screwdriver. It threw me across the room :( The second experience occurred one day when I was at our side fence saying hi to my new neighbor's chow mix and wondered what the strange wire strung along the fence was. I stupidly touched it. My thumb was numb and tingly for a week :(

I'm on Page 11, and I had to get it from Google Play. I was upset bc the book sold out in the store in record time and a serendipitous (or maybe it was fate rather than coincidence) event prevented me from taking the book I was holding in the store, when suddenly a medical emergency occurred and someone came up to the front screaming for a doctor, nurse or paramedic to help.
I went to help and lost the book I could have read by turning pages the old-fashioned way. Someone else snatched up the book while I was helping with the emergency.

Here's a truly horrifying video - Celine Dion covers AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long"

Good thing Srbo doesn't come here as much as he used to or he might sh*t bricks to see this! :biggrin2:

:nope:

As a long time fan of AC/DC, I have to say that video was a direct violation of the Geneva convention and Dione should be charged with crimes against humanity.

Apart from that, and in the spirit of the thread, well.. Revival is fiction, SK is a writer so I didnt expect, nor would like to read information on electricity that would be as accurate as a paper in some IEEE journal.
That said, up to a point it is ok. After that point, willing suspension of disbelief as always and everything's fine.
