I'm going to keep this short because I promised no spoilers...

All in all I was a little disappointed. For a while it didn't 'feel' like King, but then got more into a stride, albeit a slow stride. While I enjoyed the story on the whole, it won't go down as one of my favourites, let's leave it at that :cool2:

I think every now and then there'll be the SK book that some of us don't enjoy. It's not a bad thing, it just shakes us a little and reminds us that we're all very different. But hey, variety is the spice and all that :0:

yeah, the early and mid parts reminded me of Joyland, while the ending made me think of his dedication at the start to the writers he had mentioned..not my favorite, not the worst, but worth the price of admission..

There have been a few King novels that I didn't particularly care for upon the initial reading. But, after letting those books sit on the shelf for a couple of years, I did a re-read of them and found myself liking them better. The only one that didn't happen with is Tommyknockers- I just can't make myself care for the two main characters at all.

I have a special feeling for Revival, partly because it was an unexpected gift, and partly because, in some his stories there are times when he seems to have gotten hold of my life's transcript and is copying from it, and Revival is one such story. I won't go into it other than to say it's uncanny.

Currently about 33% of the way through (yep, Kindle version). Don't much care for Laura, it has to be said...but there are some pin-sharp observations in there (as usual), especially re: the thrills and spills of youth. And there's horror in there. Oh yes.
All in all, I'm enjoying it...but I think it's unlikely to end up as one of my favourites. Let's see if the other 64% (with another 2% being the likely notes and 1% left over for 'stuff') can convince me otherwise.
