Doris Day has passed away at the age of 97 - she loved animals and her home was a sanctuary for them

RIP Doris

I donated to Doris's animal charity years ago. By doing so, you got an autographed picture and something else, I can't remember what it was. That's not why I donated and wasn't upset I didn't receive the stuff. And then about 5 years later, a surprise in my mailbox! FIVE YEARS and she finally sent my stuff. bwhahahaha!

When my dad was in the Navy, he got to see Doris Day. I don't know if she came and entertained the troops, or he was on leave and got to catch a show -- he said she was the most freckled person he had ever seen! But cute as a button and put on a good show.

RIP

Thanks to Turner Classic Movies I have seen two of her films: Pillow Talk and another comedy where her character is presumed dead. She returns home to find her husband about to get remarried, therefore becoming a bigamist.
That was a cute one - it was called "Move Over Darling" with James Garner
