Three microbes have been named after the members of Rush. Research scientists at the University of British Columbia have named the Pseudotrichonympha species: P. leei, P. lifesoni, and P. pearti. I didn't post a link because I didn't think it was allowed. You can talk about the band in this thread if you like them.

....microbes found in the gut bacteria of termites....will the honor EVER fade????????:D......and while I respect their musicianship, I honestly will say I wouldn't go out of my way to buy any of their work.....saw them in concert as well-just not my mug of grog.....

Really, really loved Rush in their prog days. They lost me for a long time after Signals, but brought me back into the fold with Clockwork Angels, which is a terrific record. Even my wife digs old Rush, which is one of many reasons why I love her.

I saw Rush 10 years ago. It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I'm very grateful that there was no opening act to suffer through.

DH and I went to see them at Maple Leaf Gardens when we were dating. There was an opening act. Can’t remember their name, but it was a band I liked.

Anyway, there was a bit of feed-back, sounds not adjusted properly for such a large arena, stuff like that. Mid-song guys coming running on stage to adjust everything, and suddenly the crowd went crazy....they realized it was Alex, Geddy, and Neil. They fixed it then ran off, one waved but I don’t remember who.

Next day I read an article about the concert in the paper. It said the lead in band had never sounded so good in concert. It was as good as their recordings. Not common for performers to be that good live. Also said most bands do not like the lead in to sound so good because it makes them feel obligated to sound better.
