Evan, at the trailhead. It is a mile and a half hike up to that lake, and you gain another 1000 ft in altitude.

East Tensleep Lake. Still snow on the banks, and Scott said some ice still on the water.

Evan again, on banks of East Tensleep

Looks like brook trout...what we call "speckled trout" not that it makes much difference, rainbow, brook, lake...well okay, maybe it does make a difference. Good eating either way. Don't quite see the red speckles common to brookies but those orange tips makes it look like that fish. Looks like a blast. Nice to get away from time to time.

Yes, Walt you're right. They are brookies. I don't eat 'em, so :umm:. They are just "fish" to me. ;) ;-D

Indeed. My mind keeps getting images from Doctor Sleep, with The True Knot in the locations of these pics.

I think I see Rose's hat peeking out from that furthest tree on the left :)

My mind imagined unearthly Gollum-like creatures who live in the treetops and slide down the bare trunks to grab any prey that passes under their tree. :)

The photo is definitely eerie. Champ probably thinks he took a photo of a peaceful feel-good scene lol.

I can't find it right now but GNT posted a photo awhile back of a seemingly endless corridor inside the Shawshank prison that was extremely spooky - a real imagination stirrer :)

I don't know if you've read DT, but there's a pic, I think in DT 7, that the scene reminded me of. Our dog reminds me of a character in said pic.
